It was 1990 when I wrote a letter to Fiction Records, and they sent me back (to Mexico) a bunch of stuff, which included a list of fans around the world. I started writing letters to several in different countries, and suddenly I found myself in a relationship with a german fan. After all these years, the internet, covid and ups and downs, we are still together, but I’m in Mexico and he’s in Brussels. He’s coming again to spend New Years Eve. Though we decided not to marry, he comes three times a year… And we owe this to The Cure. So many years!! And they don’t even know! ❤️❤️😂😂🙌🙌 We love you guys!!

Just saw them in PHX last Thursday, and they aren’t diminished even slightly. As a live band the Cure is in full possession of their fastball, and the fact that Robert sounds as good as he ever did sets them apart from almost every other band that has been performing for 30-40 years. I love that they cross so many genres, which just defies most groups’ capabilities. This tour set list is phenomenal, but Pictures, Forest, and especially Burn brought the house down.

What is the song about?? 🌳🌲🪵🪵🪵😮
@topcop41Mark
@topcop41Mark Жыл бұрын
@@MicheleMcAdoo Robert Smith of the Cure wrote it about his wife who at the time was his girlfriend and I believe to show how much he loved her. He references the ocean in the song because a trip he took with her in real life to the ocean inspired the lyrics. To me it always described a sort of love found and love lost type of tune. Beautiful and sad at the same time. Fantastic lyrics.

I need to hear it on a better stereo than my cellphone. His bass sounds very skeletal and I can't hear Robert well.They played an amazing version of this and 100 years in New Orleans in 1999.They didn't have Reves,who is incredible. But they ruled.Sadly I never got to see them with Porl.I saw em again in New Orleans a few years ago with Reves and they were incredible.Robert plus a world class #2 guitarist is awesome. But when Robert doesn't have Reves or Porl,his epic skills get showcased even more. Ive seen the Cure twice. PIL 4 times(89,12,15,18)and Ministry multiple times. I regret never seeing New Order although I have seen Peter Hook and the Light twice,and made 2 pilgrimages to Manchester to honor Joy Division/New Order. If you are an old fart like me and haven't seen any or all of these legendary acts I mentioned,do it.If you are a youngin,go see what real music is,as opposed to dubstep or mumble rap(no offense,i like electronic music and good rap)-or whatever new unoriginal shit that is popular these days

Patrick Timothy Hell yeah. I'm 23 years old now, know the band since at least 2011, but just became a fan for real, and could understand their music, around 2015; a little late, but I'm pretty happy that I did. Really hoping that they come down here to Brazil again In the future.

Amo The Cure. Este es un show con sonidos más limpios y etéreos. Y ese órgano añadido le da más épica. Lo que no deja de asombrarme, es que Robert tenga la misma voz desde sus inicios. Simplemente leyendas. A forest, de mis favoritas. Saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷

And yet this same band also gave us countless other incredible songs that all hold up decades after they were release - AND the band still sound just as top notch as they did in the 80s.
