Watching this video I see why I've enjoyed The Cure over the years and specifically the album Disintigration. It's a primal authentic voice, not a performance, not an interpretation. Imagine a kid on his first solo vacation in Canada and coming across the Cure touring for Disintegration. Such a wonderful memory of my youth. Wow! While it's most definitely one of my all-time favourite songs (& albums), I'm assuming that you can already imagine (& enjoy the thought of) everybody sitting around rather uncomfortably while it plays for 8-plus minutes?! If I selected any songs by The Cure for my own funeral, I think I would opt for a selection from such upbeat songs as "Boys Don't Cry", "Let's Go To Bed", "The Love Cats", "The Caterpillar", "Close To Me" &/or "Why Can't I Be You?", because I love the thought of everybody being unable to not laugh & party while they played & then finally, ending proceedings with the hauntingly beautiful "Lullaby"!!
