I was looking forward to hearing what Todd had to say about Alone and he didn’t disappoint. It’s good to see you guys saying such nice things about Jason Cooper. I liked the image of the Russian doll.

Can always count on the two of you to paint a clear, concise picture - no matter the subject. 👍 Proceeding with caution and an open mind ...

Since l just put an epic eight paragraph “essay” on me ol’ mucker bicyclelegs latest video, I’ll try and be a tad more concise here. I was first turned onto The Cure in 1985, with their elpee The Head on the Door. Disintegration is a stellar album in their oeuvre, as is “The Todd Approved” Wish release. I saw them play a two and a half hour show on the Wish tour… wow. When l first heard the song, my immediate touchstone was “Plainsong” as well, from the aforementioned Disintegration platter. I also saw The Cure perform live at the 2019 R&RHOF induction ceremony in Brooklyn, New York. Like you dudes, I’m also looking forward to hearing more from this enigmatic act. ~ Davey Cretin from Cretin Classics.

TODD! I have never listened to the Cure aside from the popular 80s singles.

I think, it is The Cure by numbers. Since they dropped Disintegration, they have not changed the formula, which they've dared to do until 1989. The long, uneventful intro, having G and F chords forever is lacklustre. Sure, R.S. still has the Mojo of a good voice, but again, it is rather "meh". Plus compressed as hell. Just my opinion.

My point: the song is embarrassing, pathetic, predictable, unimaginative, as the band has been for the last thirty years. Oh!, and it sounds awful.
