Did you really pick The Smiths shirt to review this masterpiece of a song? or it was the only thing you have left?

Thanks a ton! The truth behind the t-shirt: this had more to do with the fact that, when I went to react to that song, I was coincidentally wearing the same Fender t-shirt I'd worn in the Alone reaction I did. I didn't want to wear the same shirt, but I don't have a current The Cure t-shirt in my lineup. I was looking through my shirts and then sorta got a smile at the idea of The Cure fans seeing the t-shirt and the decision made itself haha

Great reactions to both Cure songs. Was lucky enough to hear 5 of the new songs live in 2022 Leeds UK and prepare yourself for And Nothing Is Forever, I Can Never Say Goodbye ( about his brothers passing) but the ultimate for me was the 11 minutes of the final song Endsong. To say epic is an understatement.

This song hits like a sledgehammer to anyone who has lived it. I've been on both sides, but my current relationship is like she is speaking to me through Robert. The lyrics are an exact fit. My depression and anxiety throughout 2020-21 drove us to the edge of the cliff. I pushed everyone and everything I loved away.. Far, far... away. I'm so very lucky for coming out of the other side of that alive. I'm so lucky to still have the love of my life by my side. Thank you Robert. Forever grateful.

I really love the way you listen to the songs in depth, the music, layers, lyrics, sounds etc. You have a great vibe and good energy about you that I relate to you . There are elements of this song that could be on Blood Flowers as well. I don't watch too many reviews of songs but once in a while between podcasting, music etc. Looking forward to more reviews on this album as well. Cheers, Joe from the TruthStream show ( we have had a couple channels removed on youtube, X and tik tok, man the censorship is real.)

The new music is coming really strong and heartfelt, I love that! My only complain with this tune would be the tinny sound of the cymbals and hi-hats in the beginning. There is something with Jason's cymbals arrangements that I never quite loved as much as I loved Boris' drumming in the past

This song sounds a bit like a b-side of Wish, which is a good thing. They sound like they did over 30 years ago when I first started listening to The Cure, and I can't wait to hear the studio version of End Song. It's pretty oldschool Cure to release an album with only 8 songs.

@@blahblog4322It's about the historic feud and rivalry between the leads singer of The Smiths and Robert Smith of The Cure which makes it tongue in cheek. Otherwise, yeah true it's just an item of clothing.
@gabehill-harriss90222 ай бұрын
I was gonna mention that. It's a shame cos I love both bands, the Cure more, and they aren't even the same anyway, it's just I totally got why Robert thought Morrissey was arrogant because there has always been a whiff of arrogance and snobbery about Morrissey where as Robert is much more open minded.. In my opinion of course. But both great artists.

I agree with you : we're missing real innovation in music, but why pretend you could invent something if you fail ? This is very clever and humble to just do VERY good music, even though this is kinda vintage. There is also high consideration for their fans in this choice ! 👍

Well at least a small amount of Robert's lead guitar sound. But disappointing and repetitive. Disintegration but without lead guitars. Can we please get some songs with guitar like just about everything they did from 1980-1995. The core of a great Cure song is Robert's lead guitar and the layers of sound that backs up the lead guitar.

Tragedy!😬 I guess it's Cure's over now🤔😒The guy who created Faith, Wish and Bloodflowers can't compose an interesting melody today. Here only the drums save these miserable efforts. The lyrics of the song is excellent as always of course

I think Robert sounds great & the band is professional, but I think music in general has just lost something. I like what he did with Blink 182 a little more, but again something is missing. Maybe I am just old.
@glowboyglow3152 ай бұрын
Alone was better than this song. But still 3.5 minutes intro was too long.This song feels a bit over produced in the refrain with muddy sharp synth loops and a piano toned down. They could have skipped the sharp synths or what those sounds are..I would love to hear more air and ambience in the mix. Maybe real orchestral violins on the second refrain to build up. I would also like to hear just Robert with piano. Roberts lyrics are great as always
