And I'm outside in the dark Staring at the blood red moon Remembering the hopes and dreams I had And all I had to do And wondering what became of that boy And the world he called his own... I'm outside in the dark Wondering how I got so old It's all gone It's all gone Nothing left of all I loved It all feels wrong It's all gone It's all gone It's all gone No hopes no dreams no world No… I don't belong No… I don't belong here any more It's all gone It's all gone I will lose myself in time It won't be long It's all gone It's all gone It's all gone Left alone with nothing The end of every song Left alone with nothing The end of every song Left alone with nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing

It's magical, his tears express his whole attitude to his own music. I have never seen a person so sincerely share his emotions with the audience, not hiding them at all. He hasn't changed over the years. His soul, so pure and kind, is too young for his outer shell, but he can't do anything about it. Time kills everything, he understands it and his tears reflect it so clearly. Fame hasn't changed him. Unlike many, he doesn't wear a mask. He's real and I really appreciate him for that

@@lauraa7042 I'm conflicted... no computers back then. You went to a record store to buy music...what a treat..we'd spend hours at Tower Records. You could go to school without the worry of being shot. You could go to a concert, a movie, grocery shopping, or just go outside, go anywhere, without constantly looking over your shoulder, never knowing if the next bullet might be meant for you. Times have changed. I remember missing the last bus after a dance. I was 15 yrs old. And a car pulled up to where I was standing. Six passengers, all boys. I told them my Dad was going to kill me! They said, we can give you a ride. I got in that car totally trusting these teenage boys. They took me straight home. Present tense- these days, I would not get in a car with 6 guys. I used to hitchhike all over my city (Philadelphia) many times alone and I guess I just got lucky. Yeah- things are different now. But now for instance- if your car breaks down, you pick up your cellphone and call a friend. So there's good and bad these days. And that part, will never change. There will always be evil in this world. Hopefully it won't tip the scale to where there's more evil people than good people. If that happens, we're all doomed...

His lyrics, voice and intonation still pulls that string in me which makes me weep helplessly and beautifully... It's been that way for 40 years now. If that ever changes, I know it's all over.

All of us grew older with you, Robert. Some of us, only grew older BECAUSE of you. You made us weird goth, alternative kids of the late 80s and early 90s feel understood and heard and worth something. Now, at 48 and having listened to the Cure since I was 15, and going to every concert (we just left the cure in Denver tonight) I feel like I know him well, thanks to songs like these, baring his soul to the world. Making everything - even the painful moments - beautiful with his voice and poetry... I know I made the right connection when I fell in love with the Cure in my youth. And I will love Robert Smith, forever, for all he did for me personally, through his lyrics and his stunning vocals. ❤
Robert Smith is a genius and these new songs are on another level. Fookin amazing

I have no clue how the Cure got past me back in my teens in the 80’s. I discovered them this week and they are immediately my favorite band. I haven’t stopped and can’t stop listening to them and the epicness is seemingly endless with them!

Beautiful song by Robert. I think he’s bidding farewell to his youth as we all eventually do and realizing the fact that we’re all mortal and nothing is forever.
