One of things that l love about Kev and his tribe, is that Kev is helping to normalize men telling each other they love them publicly and regularly, just because. There is such a stigma in the Black community where some men don't think it's manly to talk to their friends like this, and I believe that is something that needs to be changed. I love that whenever Kev gets off the phone, leaves Squadd Cast or ZWTH he tells them all he loves them, which means it's something that he is doing all the time. This is a GREAT example that I think we need more of!
@BriMechell3 жыл бұрын
Interesting point. I have made it a point to try to say “I love you” more to those I love and care about. I am not an affectionate person but it’s something I think our community needs more of.
@keishalyn3 жыл бұрын
@@BriMechell Not everyone is affectionate, but I'm glad you're sharing your feelings with your loved ones. I feel blessed that saying "I Love You" is a normalized part of all my family and close friend interactions. So much so that when I'm in or around situations where this is not the case I'm very aware of it. From my experience, watching the men in my life being able to express love and emotions comfortably helped tremendously when making choices in my relationships. I definitely feel we need more of this in the Black community to dispel the narrative that showing emotion makes you weak because it doesn't.

Thank you Kevin. I was wondering why everyone was coming for the wife and how she appeared. She was clearly devastated. She is working through feelings of anger, betrayal, depression, hurt, abandonment and confusion. And she was simply not ready. I can’t imagine having to manage the daily manipulation and gaslighting that she receives DAILY and for YEARS. She don’t even know her own mind. If this is the only man she has been with, she don’t even know what good, and healthy looks like. Cheating feels like devastation. You add a unhealthy view of Christianity and now you feel trapped in devastation. And don’t have the tools to escape or navigate the tomfoolery.

The Derrick Jaxn thing was such a damn mess. I never followed his content and I'm actually really glad I didn't (also don't think I'm the target audience for him either). I felt so bad for his wife because people were going in on her and essentially just victim-blaming. And also making excuses for him on why he would cheat on her. And I'm like.....y'all realize she's the victim? She does not want to be experiencing this? Imagine being married to someone whose entire brand is based on the concept of healthy and happy relationships only to realize that he's been unfaithful almost the entirety of your marriage? And then have you sitting there with him for an 'apology' video that he could've done by himself? And then his pick-me followers are going in on how YOU LOOK? While the other half of the comments are criticizing you for not cussing him out and not leaving? Audacity has reached new heights. Like Kev said, she wasn't going to win either way.

I scrolled for quite some time because I was genuinely trying to figure out her why aura was so dim, in the video with Derrick she looked like she has lost a good majority of her zeal for life and I found a few things.. She seems to have really invested a lot of her time at some point studying the women that he cheated with.. What did they look like..how did they dress, make up styles.. Nails..hair, how they spoke etc. And she not only compared it to herself but tried to immitate them in hopes of keeping his attention..(which we see failed) I felt so bad..but then I kept reading this women has been through more than just her marital betrayal.. She was molested, regected, made to feel unwanted, lied to and she blames herself for her fathers passing. There is a story about how when she was 12 her father asked her how she felt about him because he was hearing things from her mother and I guess he wanted the information from the source and because her upbringing with him made her feel like the "unwanted step child" and he had other kids in his home that lived with her that mocked her she let him have all of her thoughts good bad ugly etc. 2 weeks later he passed. She was 12 so I guess her logic was I did this, I'm the reason why hes no longer here. I felt so bad.. If only she knew that wasn't her fault.. Neither is her husbands choice to cheat multiple times .. She seems to like traveling, working out, animals and she's got a silly sense of humor. She's more beautiful than she gives herself credit for and I just feel so bad because I feel like God is the only thing she clings to that gives her any bit of hope. I think that's why shes so invested in her spiritual life but it becomes tricky because she quotes the right scriptures but has not taken the time to assess that she has not and is not actually healed. God is a healer, this is 100% true but she (we) still need to put in the proper work even while walking with him. I just want to hug her. Its so sad. This woman is broken..but she definately also exhibits habits of a fighter. I'm rooting for her.

So I thought her choice of outfit and hair covering was off too at first but low key reminding me of people I know who have sworn off make up and fashion....so I looked her up and found her instagram and it looks like she has has an awakening and talked about not subscribing to the society's standard of beauty. She also mentioned that she used to beat her face and dress up to imitate the women he liked... but no longer will do that.
@alwayslivinglife643 жыл бұрын

I wonder if she started the relationship that way. Like dressed comfortably bonnet and all and just noticed what his “type” was and started to conform to that, but realized nah that’s not who I am. Or if she was the dress up type and slowly morphed into comfy wear. Not to excuse him, but I would feel a bit of way if my bf just turned into tees and joggers 24/7 especially if in the first few years of our relationship you were into making sure u looked good. Of course I wouldn’t cheat on him definitely a conversation to make sure we good. 😅

I personally get the natural thing. I’m natural: swore away fake nails, weave, wear makeup occasionally. But I would never be caught on camera with a cape & bonnet/hat. I’m gonna look like WonderWoman if I gotta wear a cape for you.

The move for Derrick is to expand his audience. He can sell the same type of advice but add in working on himself, struggling to be a better man, etc. in order to start attracting more males to his brand. He's going to lose a share of his current audience, but we all know that there is a significant percentage of women who can quickly forgive even infidelity on this level so long as the gentleman in question looks nice, has some money, is apologetic and actively (outwardly) working on bettering themselves. This could end up being a net positive for his brand if he plays it right.

My friend and I discussed the Derrick Jaxn thing and we saw the comments about his wife’s appearance. As we discussed it the main thing that we kept coming back to is how manipulative this whole public apology was. For as long as he has been a public figure he has made the conscious decision to cultivate this image as this woke single black male giving women “helpful” advice. He kept his wife tucked away in this back corner RARELY acknowledging her and their marriage. So when you have created this entire mess cheated on your wife and having it aired out publicly then and only then did he want to bring his wife to the forefront. That’s one of the most narcissistic things we’ve seen on Blue Ivy’s internet. When it comes to his wife’s appearance her outward appearance simply reflects her inward feelings. A woman who has healed from that hurt, feels confident in her decision, and is in a place that she wants to publicly speak on her relationship doesn’t present herself like that. She looked drained, exhausted, hurt, not wanting to be there, and defeated. And if we the people can see that he had to see it and just didn’t give a fudge and drug her into this public spectacle any way. He made this mess on his own and if he really loved her he would have stood in this mess and the backlash of it by himself.

I stopped following D. Jaxn a long time ago. I started to think 💭 why is it that solely women are following his accounts when his content was towards men and how they should treat women💭. Why are women lined up to hear his sh** when it should be men!! I feel this same way about Stephen Speaks. If you look at the followers list it’s 97%-98% women! Now he looks like a hypocrite. He’ll use the excuse that he isn’t perfect. 🙄🤥

My prayer is that women who see currently see pieces of themselves in Mrs. J will focus on themselves and heal. This is killing our women, relationships and offspring.
