Manchester United's best era was when they had Cristiano Ronaldo and Alex Ferguson. It is a story that is all too familiar in the sports world. A great leader, whether on or off the field, leaves a team after a sustained period of dominance. When they go, fans, pundits, and people within the organization immediately start looking for their successor in hopes to continue the winning ways. More often than not, however, it’s exceedingly difficult to immediately replace a talismanic player or coach. For Manchester United, this was the case when Sir Alex Ferguson left the club for retirement in 2013. In his 26-year tenure at Manchester United, Ferguson led the Red Devils to 38 trophies, including 13 Premier League titles and two UEFA Champions League triumphs. Since then, the club has won just five major honors, none coming from the EPL or Champions League.

I'm one of his biggest supporters, i mean, i love him very much, but not because i support him, means I'm being partial.. There are a lot of factors why he hasn't gone on to become one of the best of his generation even though he has the potential to, and one of the main factor is the for which he plays.. Cr7 had to eventually depart because of the toxicity, it's not an environment to help anyone to flourish.. That season when he had a poor one, it wasn't just him, even Bruno the club has affected massively.. The Bruno we have been witnessing for the past 2-3 years isn't the Bruno that came here.. If these players were at a well structured and organized club, they would only be progressing.. Look at Martial, he is well gifted, and even him ended up failing at this club.. That's why i would address Sir Alex as a genius, because he was able to overcome the odds, while every other manager after him has failed to so far.. Rashy suffered a back injury and was still forced to play.. There are so many factors to consider, so i can't just bash and blame him for everything as if it's all his fault.. It wasn't his fault for the massive wages.. Look at Maguire, it wasn't his fault he got bought for £80 mil, it wasn't Anthony's fault either to be bought for 90.. This club hasn't had an identity since Fergie.. So how can a player really lives up to his full potential if they are unsettled? If there was a system, each player would have a better understanding of their role.. Look at the second half against Brentford, we saw a style of play, and we also saw a more confident Rashy, not only Rashy, but even Bruno looked a lot better, just look at that pass for the second goal? Without a system, there will always be inconsistency, which means that players will underperform, but place them in a team that has an identity and you will see the difference.. But i understand that Rashy needs to get his discipline back.. Cr7 was able to still standout in toxicity, because he is Cr7, and his mentally is superior to any challenge there is.. Ten Hag should work on the second half performance against Brentford, and let that be our identity, and allow the players to finally settle down and develop stability which will automatically lead to growth, instead of, chopping and changing, and this is the reason why we can't find any consistency..
@fen6972 ай бұрын
He hasnt gone on to become one of the greatest because he doesn't work for it. I've never seen a player who fights lesser for the football in a game than him. Rarely presses. Makes horrible simple passes which more often than not get intercepted. Doesn't cross. Consistently loses the ball after stopping dead in the middle of an attack instead of taking on his man. Poor body language. And the worst part he's the highesr paid player and simply doesn't put in effort.

There’s definitely a good or even great player there but definitely not world class. I think he’s been rotting skill wise for a while but the salary United gave him definitely hastened it. He plays for a salary now rather than for the badge. His situation is legit like Luke Shaw a few years back. Shaw was playing badly before we got Telles and then he played well for a while. When he got his starting place back and sold Telles, his form dipped until we bought Malacia. Likewise Rashford’s been overhyped for a while. He’s never been truly bad until last season though. I think it’s got to do with the fact that he’s got no challengers for that left wing spot. Garnacho’s been made to play right because Anthony was so poor. However with Diallo kicking on, Garnacho is being shifted to the left. If Rashford doesn’t kick on this season with the increased level of competition at his heels I think it would be time to let him go. I have a feeling that he will rise to the challenge though. Say what you want about EtH time at United but he’s been good at resurrecting players’ careers. Maguire is a good example, but EtH also was the one who bought Malacia which lot Shaw’s butt on fire. He made AWB challenge and displace Dalot for the right back squad. Yes AWB was sold eventually, but he was definitely at his best under EtH. Heck even Anthony’s been decent in the few games he’s been allowed on as of late.

Rashford is a good player, the problem is that he is a good player in a good team, it’s not a coincidence that he has done double figures for both goals and assists every time United have sort of had their act together and made top 4.

7 goals and 2 assists right after a 17 goal 5 assists season is crazy, he's just playing for the paycheck

Only thing consistent about rashford is his inconsistency, frustrating knowing he has the ability to be world class but attitude is never there

Simple truth is Rashford is not elite. He would not fit into Sir. Alex Ferguson's starting eleven. He is okay as a squad player.

Everyone's speculating on this and that, but the truth is that he doesn't care enough anymore. He's done great things outside of football, but he isn't putting in the effort inside of it. He has the ability to become a world class player, as we've seen in 2 seperate seasons, but that's the problem, 2 out of 8 or 9 seasons have been excellent, the rest have been way below par. That's not a 300k a week player

The issues are more ten hag recently than Rashford lol

Who are these mythical people who consider Rashford a wonderkid? We've had 3 generations of wonderkids since he was a wonderkid

He's talented. He could or should be doing better. He's inconsistent. If they haven't already they should get him a sport psychologist

He definitely cares, you can see his frustration whenever he misses. He just holds it back slightly

Its a shame that a player like rashford broke a record held by a legend like george best

If the likes of Ronaldo and Rooney performed like him back then, Sir Alex would've sell them away without a second thought. He would be in his prime or end of his prime by now (depends on how long it last) if he is really that good instead of still being known as some so called young prospect that hasn't hit his potential.

This one hurt cuz I really did like him but now learning about his lack of dedication im out ✌🏼
