Thank you! I’ll have to try this. I don’t use barrettes with metal clasps any more, because my hair always gets caught in the hinge at some point, but there are other options out there.

Yes, this can be modified for long hair too. Instead of leaving your long ends up, keep twisting & then turn them down and along side the other. So, it will end up be a double twist. You might need a large claw clip to hold it in place! 😉
