Anybody familiar with ESO "action" combat, it sounds like it works exactly the same. The action part is just for acquiring your target not actually aiming your weapon. As long you are looking in the general direction of your target you will hit it. It's what I expected and I'm good with it. Have to get my hands on it but I should be good. It's not New World action it's hybrid action built on a tab structure.

Idk why you're surprised with ranged in action camera. This is exactly how every hybrid combat MMO works. Tab with a reticle.

It's an alpha. Usually those happen a year or so before release. Sometimes sooner. Can't honestly say anything negative about it yet. Not for another 6 months or so.

Ok what games have you played? This game is horrendous. Wow is the minimum standard now and this is so clunky and boring, the cooldowns on the basic attack is ridiculous.

@VictoryOrValhalla14 Everquest, Lineage2, Wow, Rift, GW2, BDO, Conan, DOC, Archeage, Windstream, Tera. Probably some others i can't remember. I think your wanting a Street Fighter fu game, Ashes is not that type, thank goodness. Yoy have to gain some levels and things open up pretty quick, you don't even notice the cool downs really.

@@JohnAPrescott UO was more fun and better character creator. Like I said wow is now the minimum standard, if any MMO cannot match it in how fluid the tab combat is and the content it’s not going anywhere but server shut off. I’ll use SWTOR, the biggest franchise in history and the combat was so unresponsive and the graphics were so stale it died. Had endless potential and promise but those two major reasons it’s on life support. I’ll be giving AOC more chances because I invested in it, not because it’s good because it’s not. If by beta some drastic improvements aren’t made it’s over. Mark my words.

i changed up some of them, especially the ones that default to shift + 7,8,9,0 but for the most part i left them the same

I'm a little confused. Alpha 2 hasn't come out yet, so how does everyone have all these "reveal" videos about it? Is it just assumed that they changed nothing since Alpha 1?

That's an old video from the monthly livestream showcase and not the current state of Alpha 2 since it is still under NDA

I dunno how you can describe the combat other than having your t-posed character launching spells at a lagged out mob that doesn't even move. Today (10/24) was unplayable

@@crypticsouls987 if you expected more than that you haven’t been paying attention lol. I played with 200-500 people. Today was thousands. These first two months are going to be rough, they are meant for intrepid to sort out performance issues and server issues

A2 does start on 10/25 but the Verbal NDA has dropped for those who have been helping test

Another fake Alpha 2 video - why.... AoC own news post... "As most of you know, we have been testing the last few months with our Alpha One participants in anticipation of Alpha Two Phase One starting on October 25th. " What you played was Closed Alpha access and not unlaunched/released Alpha 2 of any phased feature/bug fixes release.
