If I had to guess the reasoning behind Jason's look, I'd say there's two reasons that could have been the motivation: One, he's surrounded by cartoon characters with stylized proportions, making him just... a normal looking human would really stick out. Also takes a bit of the edge off his design, the game is aimed at children too after all. Second would be communicating that he's a heavyweight. Again, the game is in large parts made for a more casual and younger audience who might not know what Jason would play like, making him wider with a more pronounced chest like Superman immediately shows off he's meant to be slow and strong. That aside, is it just me or is the hit feedback not as crisp as it should be in this game? To me it feels like the sound-design could use more oomph.

I haven’t played MultiVersus in a long time due to loss of interest. But seeing someone as Jason, who has been struggling with licensing issues, is exciting me to go back and not judge this game wrongly. And seeing you play, being a fan for a while, is making me want to return to the game. Your gameplay is great, and different from other content creators. You never fail on entertaining us!

You really don’t know much, huh? Edit: The game was also released almost a year ago, or more. I haven’t been caught up to the game’s history as much but I do know the beta was open for quite a while. But even then, it’s laughingly dumb to just come up with that thinking you had a whole planet laughing when I was complimenting a guy’s style of content, and my time with the game. It makes me think you just don’t get that attention you need so you come to some random guy you don’t know for it. SMH..

@@Blixir Its not a skill nor aan internet issue, there is a built in half a second input delay, probably because its a casual platformer and the casuals would get clapped to much, but shit do i know. The built in input delay feels horrendous and sometimes you cant even escape a simple neutral spam due to it

To be honest, making the character models bigger and slowing down the combat a bit was for the best... Yeah, the beta version was faster and more frenetic, but I can't deny that it used to feel like a mess most of the time, where you had no idea what was happening. now I can see every move... + the parry mechanic works here, I can't even imagine using the parry in the beta.

I agree with the sentiment but the game still feels like a mess imo. Maybe its better in local play but PvP feels pretty similar except I can't get around the stage as much. Makes the target break rifts feel much worse than they should as well but I ultimately respect the decision. Jumping out of dodge for a boost of speed feels like it should've stayed. Maybe take a bit of extra meter for doing it or something? Edit: feel like I should specify that I haven't done 1v1 yet cause I didn't think about at all. I play 2v2 primarily. The perk rework kinda sucks for 2v2 btw

Jasons tp having his hitbox at the start is weird to get used to but you can stun lock them with a couple of basic hits into a tp and follow them through to continue the combo and its so satisfying

ALSO 5:40 - Jump into Death plane Unlike Smash Bros- whom thought about this issue and resolved it before launching even their first fighting game. In Smash Bros, when you jump up to the vertical Death Plane, you do not die right away. You are allowed to pass a short distance past the death zone if you are not currently in "Ragdoll" / being sent flying. Not only do the developers not know this, the studio "Player First Games" have never made a game before. It's a brand new studio "Founded" by previously successful Devs whom were led by actually successful teams. They have no idea what they're doing and it shows... like $#!% on your finger after you wipe poorly

I think it’s a great game and a wonderful return. Some things are missing or changed now like not earning XP after matches anymore, No longer able to use characters you don’t own in training. Stuff like free for all no longer being an online mode & only in customs and no after match stats as well as new characters costing a hefty 6K and cheaper characters now a little pricier.

I’ve been cautiously optimistic in the lead-up to this relaunch, and so far, I am having a lot of fun. It’s definitely got its issues, such as the way they implemented dash attacks and how new players won’t be able to play as Jason for free for a long time. The slower speed definitely bothered me at first, and there’s still some characters that feel off now (Taz and Shaggy in particular), but I’ve gotten used to it. Matches can still get very intense and retain good pacing against tough opponents. My first match as Steven was against Gizmo, and I did not expect that match-up to be as intense as it was. Speaking of Gremlins, Stripe still feels really fast, which I love a lot. Rifts mode is nice. Satisfying rewards, hit or miss minigames, and some fun conditions. Not a ton to say. It’s just nice. Leaks or no leaks, I think we all know The Powerpuff Girls are coming, and I am very excited! Here’s hoping this game continues to do well!

I'm surprised no one is discussing the engine change which is the main reason the game is in its current state.. With the open beta we had so many QOL features and already established content when the MAIN issue was content and balance pipeline was meager. Then deciding "Hey we should scrap all of it and start all over again with a new engine with essentially a new build, all within a year!" I can't state enough how much of a bad move that was. UE4 is not an obsolete engine we have amazing games with incredible Netcode on UE4.. (GGST, my main FG) The fact that they didn't just iterate and work on UE4 open beta build shows that PFG or MVS leadership failed to make the correct decision. Not only would it be more costly to switch, we're in a worst state of the game at full launch compared to the beta.. Extremely disappointing, game is kinda fun so that's 1 thing but it has so many glaring issues that the game's future is questionable at this point. Luckily WB thinks live-service is the wave so they may have the time to catch up to the beta... Lol TLDR: PFG made a bad move changing engine from UE4 to UE5. Game is worst now.

Not gonna lie, Jason is a lot of fun to play. The rift mode is fun and being able to play Co-op in it is nice, although it seems to be somewhat prone to desyncing, which cancels the game which means you have to restart the level. My biggest complaint is that they are still using the cycling character pool.

I always thought this game felt like molasses so if anything it feels a smidge faster to me lmao On a basic level the gameplay is fun enough even if it's like trying to play mortal kombat after getting used to Marvel VS Capcom, but the real killer is the dripfeed of fighter currency. Also i despise the netcode but the game matching you up with bots the first 10 or so matches tricks you into thinking it's smooth and buttery. Edit: there's the normal experience! 16:09

if you play rifts you get tons, first day I was able to unlock two characters just from doing the basic rifts.

@@themanysirs1814 i managed one by playing all the rifts i could get access to (so easy and "advanced" on both the first two stories) and doing as many missions as I could and then I got to like 1.8k out of the 3k needed for a second... and that is the hard wall unless you have online friends actively playing for the forced-multiplayer missions on the single-player content, or you spend time and money. (important note: i'm not counting Jason and Banana Guard, free characters is very nice but i'm talking how fast you can get Character Currency if you play when there isn't a big celebration event)

Anyways, people have touched on it- but Jason’s thing is that he’s *_the_* slasher film unstoppable killer. Mr. X, Nemesis - Jason’s best compared to them, an absolute tank of a zombie who busts through anything in his path. Normally he’s not this wide - but visually, you need to communicate that he’s an exceptionally tanky character among the roster. That means he has to be the biggest in build. *_Superman_* is in this game. That is all.

I played the beta and didn't have a main hoping i can find one now. Is there a combo and technically character that takes skill if so tell me please?

I really hope we get another game of thrones character in this game, I'm thinking either Daenerys or Daemon Targareyon.Dany would probably have her 3 dragons at different ages [drogon as the ult, rhaegal for recovery, and viserion as a baby flamethrower] and Daemon would be a dirty swordfighter who uses caraxes as an ult.

I want to enjoy the game but it's hard when they removed half of my characters and cosmetics from my account despite saying they wouldn't so we'll see if they fix that

Bro I fucking LOOOOOVE JASON He’s JUST my type of character No other character in a fighting game has had this mix of moves packed into such a cool character design (for me!) His Downspecial is so cool. Command cargo grab where a neutral pummel slams the opponent into the ground and the special pummel yeets them away. His up special, air neutral special and third part of sidetilt are also command grabs, and it’s just sooo sick.

Multiversus right now feels like Melee to me. If you play it casually it can be good but slow, but as you learn the new techs it gradually gets faster and faster and more hype

My experience was not this smooth, I'll say. When I played the beta it worked very well, I just wasn't a fan of the dodge spam. And now I come in and it feels like my controller is encased in molasses. I tried everything I could think of to see if I could reduce input lag but nothing worked. Also the game is very button mashy now. It kinda was before but it feels like there's no space to run so people kinda just hold in and press attack non-stop.

I'm just wishing for all three powerpuff girls to get it. I'd be torally fine if it was Blossom as the main, while Bubbles and Buttercup are skins. Long as they all get in. I feel like trying to make them an Ice Climbers conjoined character would be a little weird in a fighting game so Im cool with the skin idea. ^^
