For a bunch educated folks, they sure come to some crazy conclusions. They are just narrow focused. For every conclusion they determine I can disprove with common sense. They have found nothing that points to treasure. , joke island.

If they want to see centuries old barrels still in use in North America, I would suggest, they visit Pleasant Valley Winery In Hammondsport, NY and while there see how subterranean manmade vaults look as those wine cellars may very well give a clue to what the money pit vault actually looks like.

The mud and organic debris in that swamp came from excavated material and other materials which may have floated into that cove during storms. Remember, it was stated the island was fifteen feet higher before all of this began. The fifteen feet of material was pulled out of the earth, spread around, scrambled then moved by erosion. It was a treasure search, not a proper archeological dig.

Only reason I watch this show is because my dad used to tell us our ancestry somehow goes into the knights Templar, King Bruce, King David and somehow it was all connected. Said we had royalty in our past and then I find out my great-grandmother name was Orcle, and she was 100% Mick Mac Indian from Nova Scotia. I used to think he was just spreading bull until I saw the show and there's like pieced my history together and it matched so much of what my dad said I was amazed and hooked. I don't know just thought I'd share It was cool and amazing for me

The Basques came to our shores, hunting whales and rendering their blubber into oil in huge bronze or copper or brass "kettles". Canada was a major supplier of oil to light Europe's lamps until so many whales had been killed the Basques had to move north to hunt out Labrador. The oil was taken back to Europe in barrels which had been brought to Nova Scotia and elsewhere as "flat packs" -- wooden staves and metal banding-- and reassembled as needed to take the oil back to Europe. As well, cod, which was not dried but packed "wet" in barrels, was much more profitable than dried cod -- also eaten in Europe but mainly fed, as a protein source, to slaves forced to grow sugar in the West Indies. The wooden top or bottom parts should be submitted to "residue analysis" -- you might find cod or sea mammal oil, or just remains of beans or lentils or ship biscuits, brought to trade for furs (or to eat themselves).
