I believe Humbrol is now owned by hornby? but have heard this varnish has caused some issues, if i do any weathering i just use normal paints and dry brushing, i dont use air brushes or these Aerosols.

Sorry to see your problem I never do anything to mine unless they come like that I always cringe when I see people remodeling painting or changing decals all is so expensive here in IRL so I leave them alone I hope you find a good motor tender shell. Disappointing. Sorry to hear that your model is ruined. I was running my Tri-ang version last night. Loco drive back then. R.251. Nice and simple.
