nintendo confermed that the idea of oatchi originated from controlling bulborbs in a dev interveiw, not to mention that the text next to the bean pikmin consept art says that they are parisitic and had something to do with "farming", there "bullet" abbility would have likely been how they controll bulborbs turning them into bulbmin, the bullets being beans that would grow into parisiticus pikminicus

I still do think that Nintendo didn’t use Alph, Brittany and Charlie in Pikmin 4 because they made sure to tread over as little of Pikmin 3 as they could. There’s even dialogue foreshadowing the events of Pikmin 3.

I think Nintendo WAS planning to add Charlie, Britanny, and Alph to the Main game, but was scrapped for one reason or another. This would also explain the unused Tropical Woods soundtrack hidden in the files. I think you were supposed to resuce them in their respective crash areas, but was scrapped 1/3 of the way through, since only Tropical Woods is there. I think they scrapped it because like you guys said, they wanted to carry as little of Pikmin 3 over as posible. The Charlie "screaming" for help also supports my idea.

So out of pure guess work I might have a few theories that might explain the koppiates roles in Pikmin 4, Not saying for sure put it kind of adds up I think 1. Pikmin 4 for most of its development was meant to be a direct follow-up to Pikmin 3 and eventually the Deluxe side stories. Possibly changed so it could be a soft reboot of sorts 2. The koppiates weren't originally meant to get immunity from turning into a leafling, There are only 2 night missions for the final 2 areas instead of the 3 which could imply they had more leaflings that needed to be cured. Also Alph was intended to be the first Koppiate rescued instead of Charlie/Don 3. The leaflings would've been more fucked up and would've had that weird voice change when they talked, This would also explain why Alph doesn't have a similar track Anyways this is pure guesswork what do you all think?

I would've prefered if the Leaflings actually had fucked up voices like that. Maybe they were supposed to be much more zombie-like, but they decided on making them act more goofy to make it family friendly.

I have 2 theories for the Koppai trio 1. The demonic audio files were them messing around with the audios to get new voices and they just forgot to remove those 2. The reason Yorke, Don Bergman, and Nelle were named Alph Charlie and Brittany in their files is because they were supposed to be the original 3 but then the timeline was changed mid development so they quickly made them similar, Nelle is a reference to Spaniel so she could be based on the _Brittany_ Spaniel, theres Yorke with 1000 siblings andna grandfather Drake (same as Alph) and Don Bergman with Ducky. Ultimately I think they wanted to keep a reminder of the original 3 so they made the Koppaites in 4 related to the others

Pikmin 4 was outsourced. The internal development team was stripped back years ago, and the majority of the work was done by Eighting. It's not even in the same engine.

9:06 it would make a lot of sense if it was the unused bean pikmin intro. it looks and sounds like they got pretty far, and were going to introduce the bean pikmin with the ice pikmin, but then decided to make glow pikmin instead to be used with a new gamemode. also, having a pikmin who shoots seeds wouldnt quite fit the feel of the game. but who knows? maybe they will return in a DLC or even in pikmin 5 with a brand new colour!

The idea of taking over enemies with patasite pikmin kills me because it's an idea I wrote about on Game FAQs many, many years ago. The sound files of Pikmin and other Nintendo games are created and saved with what I assume is WWise (i had to deal with their bnk and wem files a lot while figuring out No Straight Roads). Usually you can find a json or xml file to loosely assign the ids to actual names, but Nintendo loves to delete those apparently

The undefined is likely the decolouration of idle pikmin and undiscovered onions from Pikmin1 (hence the pale grey onion), which likely started its development and got scrapped halfway through. I personally would've loved the decolouration effect to idle pikmin and especially undiscovered onions to return.

Hey there! After playing pikmin 4, I got the game's audio files and I have looked at and analyzed most of them. I'd like to adress some of the songs featured in the video. There's actually a few variations of the theme at 8:46 in the game files, and they line up perfectly with the dandori battle songs. For example, the "leafy showdown" music fits perfectly with the one played in the video. I personally think it was meant to be played when carrying a golden sniffer but eh, who knows. The theme at 9:02 IS actually used in game! It's played in a cutscene when you enter hero's hideaway for the first time as the rescue corps and Moss jumps off the couch. The theme at 9:32 is the Arctic Cannon Larva's theme.

We can tell because Olimar's logs refer to events from other games as if they haven't happened (he had a nightmare about his company going into debt, but after waking up realized it didn't happen), he still has the Dolphin despite having to use the Hocotate Ship in Pikmin 2 _and_ 3 (so he can't have got it back between the two games, otherwise that would be stupid and redundant since he would just lose it again), the Koppaites refer to the food crisis as a future event they're preparing for (meaning that Koppai has discovered PNF-404 before the events of Pikmin 2 and 3, even though their discovery of it happens almost immediately before 3 in the main timeline), and not only are several of Olimar's logs lifted straight from Pikmin 1, he acts as if this is his first time on the planet, treating the Pikmin and everything else with unfamiliarity.
