My brother had rats. He was very close to is first, a white rat named Einstein. In which he actually named him that because of how brilliant the rat was. Even with enclosures specifically made for rats, my brother would have to take extra steps to ensure he didn't escape. He would wake up to the rat chilling on the end of his bed or on his windowsill, as it'd yet again got out somehow if he didn't use special locking mechanisms. My brother would actually pick me up from the bus stop with the rat on his shoulder like a parrot. They'd go for walks through the woods, etc. like that. No one ever believed it was a real rat when he'd be standing at the bus stop with it perched on his shoulder. He'd even take naps with it sleeping on his chest. He loved that rat!

I really liked the cake because it was so simple and the style was classic. Not everyone wants BIG with all of the extra stuff. I know I am late to game but, the client seemed happy with the cake. For the many of you that think they half assed this cake. Please. The frosting is an old style of texture that is not done often because it is not always pleasing to the eye. Most elderly ladys that know how to bake from the early 60's and back have done this style. Plus this style gives the small animals they created a more prominent showing. If they had used fondant and just smoothed out the buttercream it would look less appealing and flat. FYI when it comes to big showy cake creations. Rice crispy treats are simply used for structure. Just to use only cake for something that is more outlandish would not work. Fondant and buttercream icing has a small time window of keeping it together before they start to "melt". So for the places that ask for the outlandish cakes for the tons and tons of people in attendance. You dont see the extra cakes they have to serve to the masses. So quit your complaning people and enjoy the show.
