I have 14 CZ's. Not one is bad,! I love CZ, it is a sleeping giant and I prefer over 99% of my other guns. Reliable, accurate, well made. If you have never fired a CZ, you should, you will understand. The 97B I just picked up completes all calibers CZ made.

Purchasing this pistol [BD version] last year was the best firearm decision I have made to date. Sold a Glock and Sig shortly after. For some reason, I am a f#@*ing magician with this piece. Instant bond. For anyone who is curious.. it can certainly be carried IWB as I do AIWB, very slim.. tho I am no stranger to carrying a Glock 21 that way! Get one.

I purchased my 97B on Gun Broker late last year for 675 plus 25 shipping. I can count on one hand as to how many were listed on GB. Everything you mentioned in your fine review is so true about the CZ 45. I already have over 1500 rounds through mine, and not one malfunction whatsoever. CZ quality at its best. I might be an exception, but I conceal carry mine under my sport jacket and no one is the wiser. By the way, I also own the CZ Shadow 2 which is in a league of its own.

CZ seems to put the 97's and the P-01 out in runs. So they can be pretty hard to come by in the store. I always see the the SP-01 in the stores but the 97 and P-01 are hit and miss. The 97 is especially a hard pistol to come by in the store. If you are wanting one and happen to find it on the shelf. Grab it because you dont know when they will have it again.

I totally agree, great video! I would put my CZ97E from Cajun Gun Works up against ANY 1911 or 2011 of any make, model or price range. I have never shot a more softer and accurate pistol in my lifetime, It almost isn't fair. The work that they do over there at Cajun Gun Works to already a great pistol is just outstanding.
@jimgreene5748

I'm in California, so had to accept the older model. However, I installed a fiber optic front sight from Cajun Gun Works (It's easier than that which CZ Custom sells). I also replaced the rough wood grips, which have no palm swell, with smoother half-checkered walnut grips from Grips4U.net. These have a nice palm swell. The only remaining shortcoming is that this model allegedly lacks an improved feed ramp, but I read that the little bump at the bottom can be removed with emory cloth to make it just like the newer version. Funny thing, though; when I opened it up, there was no bump on the bottom of the ramp, so I'm all set. As to recoil and muzzle flip, it's not much more than that of my CZ 75B. I'm glad I got it.
@82luft49
@82luft49 6 жыл бұрын
Jim Green, I was going to mention the same thing. Very little difference in recoil between my 75B SA, and the 97B, which as you know is a 45 caliber. Maybe it's all about the weight of this Beast.

I can't believe they haven't made one yet, since their focus on the American gun market has increased immensely, & the 10 mm popularity has increased dramatically here. I have 3 CZ'S & Love them all. You may want to check out CZ Customs 10mm kit. You can buy a converted VZ 97 10 mm or of you already have the 97 you can buy their 10 mm kit to convert it to the 10 mm version. The kit seems to be the more economical choice. But yes a direct from CZ 10 mm would be very popular.

That is the puzzle: support LGSs and pay more than reasonable markup but get to check out the gun fit and feel first, or watch LGSs go away and pay reasonable markup to an online ‘flipper’ + shpg + FFL fee. Shadow 2 was ~$1500 locally, or $1100 online. SAME GUN. LikeI said, it’s a puzzle to me because I want to do the right thing. I’d have paid, say, $1150, but add state tax, now we’re over 12...OTOH, the LGS is a stocking dealer. It’s a puzzle.

as well as the 9mm variants are built, the .45 I think is built even better, to take that .45acp pounding. they do use a threaded barrel bushing in the front. something I rarely see on other .45's. then again, I'm not a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all guns either. I may have seen that bushing threaded on another .45, but it may have been a competition gun like Dan Wesson or some other $4000+ gun.

I saw Angus Hobdell showing his 2018 merchandise in a film from the 2018 SHOT show. He showed a milled slide they’d produced which use two transverse keyways to hold one of 10 different plates to which many of the different red dot or holo sights could attach. Also there was a ‘blank’ plate with a dovetail cut for various rear sights. The company was CZ Custom (CZC).

They are hard to find, but 9mm is the world's most popular caliber, and with 45 the market is flooded with 1911s, and polymer rigs. They only make enough that they won't be overproducing
@TSPhotoAtlanta
@TSPhotoAtlanta 5 жыл бұрын
Somewhere in between - part unicorn, part production schedules, part marketing & sales, part casting & machining. I’d bet. Wonder if a ‘regional’ LGS with deep stock would be a workable business or if the existing distribution chains in the US (not just for CZ, but multi-line) would fight to death; would it be a workable business? Potentially the market base is shrinking, so reasonable margins are shrinking, but like tires, there is always a segment that ‘needs’ the product...I think it would be a fun business to grow.

So, unlike my 2020 97b, your 2018 model has the aluminum grips. When did CZ quit offering the thin black aluminum grips on these bad boys? (U-tubes say 2013 CZ went from wood to plastic; about 2017 the original equipment 97b grips changed from plastic to aluminum.) I like my wood grips, just wondering about why the changes. Are aluminum grips a BD thing?
@ShootWellAndOftenSWAO
@ShootWellAndOftenSWAO 4 жыл бұрын
All the CZ 97 models in my local shop here all have aluminum grips. Both the B and BD. Typically the wood grips are intended for compliant states even though they are the basic same gun. It makes it a little confusing when non compliant state shops also acquire compliant models to sell.

I finally got my hands on one of these 97B pistols after months of asking about them every time I walked into a gun store. They bastards are fucking hard to find in the store. Now it gets to join the ranks of my privileged pistols. haha yes I have a case just for my privileged pistols. There is something special about each one in this case. One is my Colt 1911 simply because its the most expensive pistol I own. The other is my Sig Sauer P226, because I am a Sig fanboy and think that the P226 is the pistol that every pistol should aspire to be. The other is my grandfathers old 44 mag revolver. Nothing expensive or collectable about it, but it is the only thing I have left of my grandfather and it will stay will me forever. Last but not least is my Ruger Redhawk in 357 mag. That one is privileged because its the only revolver I have ever purchased and will probably remain the only revolver I ever purchase. Not a big revolver fan. Now the 97B will join their ranks. Whether I end up loving it or hating it, it will go in the privileged case because this bitch was so hard to find. Im hoping one day I can add a 2011 to this case, but that may just be a far fetched dream.

I have a CZ P-10c as my current carry gun and yesterday I bought this CZ 97B 45. I love the 45 calibur and I had intended to buy a 1911 but I found this CZ and couldn't resist buying it over a low end 1911. It cost me $800 counting tax and federal background check. I'm just dying to shoot it.

Yes it has a similar style slide stop as the 75B, Compact and PCR. They all stick out far like that.

There’s 1 @ my shop with wood grips. They’re asking 6 or 700 for it. But I’m such a 9mm Guy, idk. I’d wanna get one. But 45 ammo is more expensive

I understand. I shoot mostly 9mm too. The nice thing about it is if you dont like one model there are many other nice ones to choose from. Thanks for the comment...SWAO!

Kyle G, this CZ 97B is the softest 45 I've shot as of late. Its weight has alot to do with keeping the muzzle in check. Not much difference in recoil then shooting a 9mm. I'm a 9mm guy too, but this gun is a keeper.

I was told by one person that they only make 1000/year and another person 2000/year, to sell for the whole world. I have no idea how true or accurate either of those numbers are, but it just may be the popularity of the weapon that makes it seem like they're drying up. well, growing popularity I mean. I haven't shot a 97B or BD yet, but from what I hear like you say on your video, they're like shooting a tuned competition gun. I don't have a clue as to why they wouldn't just manufacture the hell out of them like they do the 9mm variants. If there are any business people out there who could explain that, I'm sure we'd all like to know.

I got lucky, I guess, and was able to snag one of the 97 BD's...yee-haa!!! I did all the legwork looking for one though, the place I frequent for firearms wanted to put me on a waiting list, so I started looking for myself...glad I did.

The steel frame machining is the big deal on these baby's. The equipment is very high tech now and a pretty much time consuming process. Polymer, just pour into form. I only have two steel frame guns and will never give them up. That Rami is a little beast too. You should check it out.

The SAR K2 45 is a clone of a CZ97 but actually better: 1. 14rd mag vs 10rd CZ mag 2. Slide is 3oz lighter vs CZ 3. Slide is .15" lower vz CZ 4. SAR K2 45 available in stainless steel 5. SAR K2 45 is 33% off the price of CZ97 6. K2 45 has better machining and fitment 7. K2 45 trigger is perfect 👌 8. K2 45 has a rail vs CZ97 doesn't.

I owned one of these pieces of crap. Most jam -a- matic 45 I have ever owned besides an EAA witness, another piece of garbage. I carried a 1911 for twenty years and had a gunsmithing instructor recommend this firearm. I tried a lot of different factory ammo and could seldom get through a magazine without a jam. Maybe in 16 years they got better but my experience was terrible.

Wow, your so off base and go on and on about CZ and there direction, all of which is your speculations. I purchased a NIB 97B March 2022. There were many to choose from. If your a firearm enthusiast, you know how to find them. It is perfection, love it and all the other CZ'S in my collection. Speculations are not facts. 🇨🇿🇺🇲👍
@ShootWellAndOftenSWAO
@ShootWellAndOftenSWAO 2 жыл бұрын
It’s not a speculation. The 97B is officially discontinued by CZ. That doesn’t mean you still can’t find supply until it runs out like the numerous other CZ models they have discontinued over the last few years.
