I used to use a shorter loop also and now use about a 1" loop.I shoot better and there is less chance of putting too much torque on the string.Great tip and info!

Thank you for posting! I think another quarter inch in my D loop would help my shoulder while at full draw. I’m pulling hard against the back wall right now since I feel uncomfortably forward but the string placement on my face is good.

How hard do you tighten down your D-loop when you attach it? I used to crank it tight to get all the stretch out of the material to get a final length that wouldn't stretch as I shot, but that made it almost impossible to untie it from the string without cutting it. It also didn't let me measure the loop length when not tied on the bow (say 5" of straight loop material) to make identical loops in the future, because there wasn't a good way for me to pre-stretch the new length of loop. Wondering if you don't tighten it as hard so you can make future adjustments, and if you don't tighten it hard, do you find you get any loop stretch as you shoot?

Well, hello, i am Andrew from Poland I have a problem with target panic. My Bow Arm stays always below the yellow middle. I think i have Little bended posture. I have Bear Species LD and i shoot 32 inch draw lenght, wrist strap release, and dloop about 22 mm. Should i go to longer dloop? Maybe 27-30 mm? Or should i tune the lenght of my wrist strap? I am worried about because season after season i shoot worse, bigger groups, and i fight with my bow arm to bring the pin up to the middle of the target. I probably don’t need to send a picture. My draw is 24. I shoot the Mathew’s Avail. I tried the 24 1/2 mod and it is too long. With the 24 the string doesn’t reach my nose or corner of my mouth. If I go back to trying a 24 1/2, do I need to shorten or lengthen my D loop to keep my consistent anchor point?

Do we have to be concerned with the D-loop applying torque to the string? When I selected a release, I chose the pincher claw style. My thought is it's perpendicular to string and should not induce a twist to the string. However I see all you professional types shooting the tension release style. As I watch videos, it seems the D-loop has to twist a bit since your hand is around 45 degree. Could that twist induce the same factors as too much face pressure on string, etc? Having never used one, maybe I'm not seeing it correctly and it doesn't twist. If the twist is there, then perhaps a longer d-loop would be more forgiving and not twist the strings. Thanks for this video and all your others, I have learned a lot from you!

Unless the loop is extremely short you shouldn’t see any torque

Can a loop be too short? I’m technically a 27 3/4 but I like how 28” feels. I’ve cheated it by shooting a short thumb release and a short loop.

The loop is too short it will torque the string when you rotate your hand to come into your anchor. As long as it’s consistent though it shouldn’t have to much effect on point of impact

@@jackbuendgen389 I was just joking. Those two bows have just had a lot of people complaining about cable wear. I really like Elite's whole line right now. I may get my kid a Basin for JOAD. It's the best highly-adjustable bow on the market, imo.
