Nowadays, it's hard to keep up with all the Warrior games and the other game I would have found intriguing before. I have two reasons for this: - The Warriors are tough to watch nowadays. I tough it out as much as I can but the drama around them and inconsistencies sucks sometimes. If before I would just stick to that Warrior game; now, I would switch over to other games. - I just have more important things in life than watching basketball. Now I get why not everyone would have "correct" takes and that's because not everyone can watch games. All they could do is look at the scores and possibly highlights if they can

I've watched more than a dozen Nuggets games 'post to post' and my brothers... the man is so chill you have to take his pulse. He is TOYING with the best basketball players on Earth. If he wanted to it is not a hot take to say he could average a 40 point triple-double. It is kind of like the Messi v Ronaldo comparison. Christiano is one of the best strikers to play in the last 30 years... Messi is the best to ever lace up the boots and get on the pitch. Embiid is having another great year. I wouldn't trade Joker for Embiid straight up... in fact I wouldn't trade Joker for Embiid and Maxey straight up. The man is as durable as a tank. Nobody... I mean NOBODY can stop him one v one with any consistency. The last player that could do that was Shaq and he couldn't pass, shoot outside, or shoot free-throws to save his life. Joker can do those BETTER than dominate on the blocks and he does that too.

I feel that consistency in making the playoffs and reaching the finals should be considered in a players legacy. While of course raising the trophy is ultimately the final goal, to be at a level where you are consistently beating the best to compete is also an accomplishment in of its self.
@s_ame113510 ай бұрын
Reaching the playoffs and the Finals is a "team accomplishment" but winning the trophy mostly relies on the best player on that team so no, reaching the Finals shouldn't count on the legacy of a player. I'm a huge Heat fan but I'm not counting their recent Finals runs to Jimmy's legacy alone.
@dragonwolfx7710 ай бұрын
@@s_ame1135reaching the finals and making it rely just as much on singular player contribution as much as the finals do. Like would the 76ers or nuggets really be where they are at without Embiid or Jokic? Winning the trophy is also just as reliant on the whole team performing. While one player being amazing certainly helps to win, you can’t succeed without your team stepping up.
@guiwhiz9 ай бұрын
People act like basketball isn't a team game. Consistently making it to the post-season requires a good TEAM... the Denver Nuggets is a prime example. With the best player on Earth and that year's MVP the Nuggets still couldn't climb out of the West because Murray and Porter were hurt. Bring them back... presto.... Rings for everyone.
@s_ame11359 ай бұрын
@@guiwhiz Same logic if you reverse it. They're still a good team capable of consistently making it to the playoffs without Jokic but do you think they'll win without him? People act like you just need a good team. You also need a perennial superstar to get the cogs running.
@pewpewTN9 ай бұрын
@s_ame1135 This is the correct take. You need both. If you have a great team & a Top 5 maybe even Top 10 player, you should be contending every year. If you only have one (Dallas)or the other (Sacramento) the margins get so slim that you can only make a rare run because you don't have the capacity to over come anywhere near as much. Luka can have a 48-13-15 Playoff Game & hit a crazy game winner to get you a game, but at some point you gotta have other guys that can step up in a best of 7. Likewise, you can play amazing team ball & steal some games, but when Jokic takes over in the 4th, you gotta have a guy that can match him.

5:37 is a great point, and applies across most professional sports not just basketball. In football just look at the likes of Pep and Mourinho who were average at best players but are some of the best managers of all time.
@Hazz140510 ай бұрын
I get what you are saying but Pep was not average. He played for Barca and even captained them for multiple years. Won their first UCL with them. However I get what you mean. Klopp was a footballer who played in the 2nd tier of German football for Mainz and yet as a coach he revolutionised pressing football. He perfected the art of Gegenpressing. Perfected High lines and in his own words, plays “ heavy metal “ football
