The EU just borrowed 1.6 TRILLION on the world market to help countries most affected by CV. That means Ireland will become a net contributor to the EU cash cow as well as serving its "bailout" loans. So where will this money come from? I have nothing against Indians but I do believe that person who is Irish and thinks of himself as Irish would be a much better and more appropriate person to lead Ireland. The greatest control of any govt is over their currency and interest rates to give that into the control of the EU is madness. The German government has benefited massively from the euro while other countries have paid a very heavy price what the eu did to Greece and are now doing to other countries is to be honest theft of other countries wealth. All the beaurocrats are on exorbitant salaries and the entire system costs a fortune to run. Sinn Fein are supposed to be a nationalist party but they are globalists to the detriment of Ireland. @anthony Burke close the border amadan There is a war going on and the enemy is flooding Ireland with an invasion force. They say it all the time so why do you deny it? As far as the Brits? Don't they have a country? Yes So they will be fine. @ricemonger any other questions? Youse both expect us to care about others besides the Irish but it is the Irish who are being genocided STOP KILLING THE IRISH A holes

Anthony Burke sorry if what I said was poorly written! Sarcasm doesn't translate well in writing. I was agreeing with you and I know that this situation does not only apply to my father but it is merely reference from a personal side of view. I am firmly Pro-immigration/emigration as I am moving to England for college

Good luck to you tomorrow. I hope you can succeed at least a little and move toward regaining YOUR sovereignty in the same way we appear to have done here in the UK. I currently live in Wiltshire but was brought up in Co. Down close to a fishing harbour and have seen the decline of that industry due almost entirely to the EU. Apart from any other reason if Ireland was to regain it's independence it would solve many of the issues created by Varadkar et al concerning our common border.

Michael, you are not seeing the bigger picture. You £7 billion contribution is transforming the lives of thousands of previously poor EU employees in Brussels. These poor people used to live average lives like the rest of the 450 million grunts, but yours and our (UK) generous contributions have gave them enormous wealth and low taxes and lifted them from the gutter where we still are. You should be proud to have helped do that. PS. im writing this on behalf of Mr Verhoftstadt.

Well said Mr Leahy. The EU is now a complete mess and it looks like it’s going to be “will the last one out keep the keys”. In other words, small countries like Ireland will be that country, not Germany, France or the other wealthier places.

Thank you Mr. Leahy. I am a UK citizen but I wish your party and its policies the best for the future of Ireland... Please do not give up.

Michael, like yourself I can recall the 'democratic deficit' argument of the Thatcher and even Charles J. governments of the late 1980's, the response was 'subsidiarity' the ideal that decisions would be taken closer to the people, aka democracy, this of course never came to pass with even greater centralisation and more money going to the EC/EU since then. I also recall predicting the financial crash in my dissertation in 2000, the reason being, and I have a copy, the deregulation of financial services by the greedy EU technocrats and, as you say, the requirement of Germany to move money outside of Germany to lend to other states party. I was, by the way, the only member of the Fianna Fáil Ard comhairle to oppose the introduction by My Learned Friend Brien Lennihan of the Universal Service Charge which, on the last time I spoke with him, a short time before he passed away, he told me I was correct on, my rationale being, why should middle earning Ireland, traditional Fianna Fáil voters have to pay for the mistakes of the EU?

Boomer Galactica Dia duit ar maidin, what most people know nothing about regarding the CJH-Gregory deal was, to obtain an inner city, Gardiner St. new home one had to bring ones brown envelope to Tony's office. More evidence of Irish corruption.
@macaedha4 жыл бұрын
Boomer Galactica On advice from a north Dublin City friend yes, he was, this is obviously hearsay but from a good source who knew quite a lot about inner city politics at this time, granted the homes, dreadfully necessary at the time, would not have been built but the requirement to pay ones Teachta Dala to obtain one is reprehensible.

What happened to the summer 2018 3-way deal between Austria? Poland and Italy? That was before the USA paid to fix the Italian port for the china silk road contract. What side deals does Ireland have???

A huge majority of Irish people support Ireland's membership of the EU. The Irish Freedom Party failed miserably in the last general election. It has almost no support. Check out its page on wikipedia.
