Whoever dreamt of combining The Damned with an orchestra should get massive credits for this work of art. This superb song has been made even better by their addition .. and outdoors too. Had this have been performed at the Live Aid show in 1985 it would have stole the show. Makes you wonder what other Punky numbers could be performed backed by an orchestra!

This is up there with the best of all rock anthems - what a brilliant rendition of a superb song. The Damned were brave to take this on .... but it as well worth any risks involved as it is superb.

Saw them for my 18th last night, well chuffed when they played this! Obviously not in quite as epic proportions but bloody hell, I had a good time. I even got to meet and chat with Vanian afterwards too. Love him!

It was at a thing called Rock aound the Dock at the Albert dock In Liverpool. My cousin took me. They also performed Anything then lobbed all thier gear in the water !! Wonderful !

To commemorate the rejuvination of the Liverpool Docks and (what was hoped) the start of the revival of Liverpool, there was a huge rock concert on a floating platform. Each band had two songs max, I believe. Cameo, Status Quo, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and The Damned are the only bands I recall being there. I made an audio tape at the time, but it has since ceased to be. I remember hearing the studio version of Eloise not long after and thinking it flat and tinny in comparison.

Rock Around The Dock featured a whole series of bands, most playing 2 songs, in part of a revival of Liverpool effort. Bands included The Damned, Status Quo, Cameo and Frankie Goes To Hollywood. I forget the rest and my audio tape of it got wiped.

The Damned were actually the first punk band to put out an album, they put their's out just weeks prior to The Sex Pistols. They were very pun in the 70s but have continually evolved throughout the past 3 decades...

This is great. Scabies is really on form here. He went on to become a brilliant drummer and it still puts me off seeing the Damned cause he's not behind the drum stool anymore (mind you Jon Moss did a good job on the 77 tour with the Dead Boys)

What is it about these guys? I am not at all into the Damned but they have covered "Eloise" and "Alone again or" both which they totally owned. I really think they have produced the best versions of both these songs. Fantastic!

Es geschehen doch noch Zeichen und Wunder. Nach fast vier Jahren Umgangsboykott haben meine neunjährige Tochter Eloise und ich heute endlich mal wieder ganze fünf Stunden zusammen verbringen dürfen. So haben wir den ersten der vier verpassten Kindergeburtstage nachgefeiert und hatten wie auch früher immer ganz viel Spaß zusammen. Es wäre sehr schön insbesondere auch für Eloise, wenn sie nun wieder regelmäßig zu ihrem Papa darf und wenn die lange Zeit der Zwangstrennung keinen ganz tiefen Schaden in ihrer Seele angerichtet hat.
