So surreal hearing all this stuff about the Trashers. I grew up probably 20-30 minutes from Danbury. A Trashers game was one of the first 'pro' hockey games I ever went to. Then I remember when they got shut down. Crazy stuff.

Regarding the "who ratted?" question. Several years later Danbury has the Whalers, a Single A level team. An ex Trasher player was on the visiting team. Holy shit, one of the funniest / clean chirps I ever heard from Section 102 (paraphrasing): "Hey _____, I heard you were the one who ratted on Jimmy because he actually made you work on the back of the garbage truck."

I live near St Louis and we had the Missouri River Otters, and they only played the Trashers once over their two seasons and it was here in Missouri. Only one fight, Wingfield went after and beat up Matt Suderman and did the heavyweight belt motion, it's like dude you fought Matt Suderman he's not really a fighter lol. Too bad the Trashers didn't come along a few years sooner, the River Otters had some great fighters. With Brosals office right there in St Charles Missouri, I dont think he wanted to schedule a gong show right there in the league headquarters backyard. The lockout year the Otters had a bunch of St Louis Blues players and I'm sure Brosal didn't want those guys having to play Danbury.
