I rented a car today that had this feature. Absolutely horrific. I didn't realise what was going on at first.

Lane assistance is a dangerous feature. It feels like I'm fighting to keep control of the wheel. I feel EXTREMELY unsafe with it turned on.

This is a really important message. Thank you. Is there anything we can do to make sure that these issues can be reflected at a legal level? I worry that the rush to the future, as well as the commercial focus of car manufacturers, will mean that the concerns raised by Thatcham Resarch may be missed by those who need to see it.

ALKS is so dangerous, and here in the EU you can't even turn it off permanently, thanks to Euro NCAP. In a drive that lasted a little over an hour, I've had it both almost push me off the road into a ditch, as well as almost hit a cyclist. And yes, I was paying full attention, it just jerks the wheel sometimes. Extremely annoying.

Agreed, some of the new “safety” features are ironically making cars more dangerous.
