Last week, inflation was announced to be 1.7%, a surprising drop that put it below the Bank of England's own target of 2%.
But if inflation is so low, why does everything still feel so expensive.
The i paper's Housing Correspondent Vicky Spratt asks economist Rachelle Earwaker from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.
She explains that although inflation is generally low, food & rent inflation remains high which is why costs seem to have stayed high.
