Stop over-analyzing. We do it because we love it. Some people play football, soccer, basketball, etc. We ride bulls. It wasn't something i was "born to do" it was something I attempted and found out i enjoyed doing. No, we aren't ignorant, no we don't have a death wish. We just enjoy our sport like everyone else.

I used to be a nursing professor & sustained a traumatic brain injury. It really gets in the way now! Pls don't let something bad happen to you before you wear a helmet as that might be too late. You may then have epilepsy & your body parts may not be as strong as before. That would keep you from bullriding, I would think. You are in an extremely dangerous sport. Pls take care of yourself & protect yourself!!!! Btw, I am not sure what hat down means but I guess it means you wear the cowboy hat?
@wyobraska987610 жыл бұрын
I'll say one thing.. I'll never ride without a helmet.. Rode my first bull last night.. My hand got hung up for a split second, then when I hit the ground the first stomp was on my helmet and when his foot slipped he hoof ran down my neck and hit my shoulder. Then second stomp was on my leg.. Ripped the pants, my leg and another area I don't want to talk about. After that the helmet aint coming off.
@janegoldy63857 жыл бұрын
There was someone this summer that could have died in a very similar way to Lane Frost. He had a helmet on though. In the end he was mostly okay, and his helmet was damaged to the point it may not be usable anymore. Atleast he had his life.

Blake Bartkowski You see, Blake, have you ever thought about what the /bull/ is going through? People say these bulls were 'bred to buck' that's basically saying that they were born to be confined to a small space, to have this heavy human sit on its back while it's being shocked with electric poles, it's tail's getting pulled on, and getting kicked and poked with sharp Spurs, in this room filled with loud screaming humans. Then the creature is released and is forced to try and get this heavy weight off its back. Ever heard of pressure and release? Well now it's forced to kick and buck and kick in ways it's body shouldn't be able to handle. Could you imagine how must pain and stress is put onto this poor being? and all the while, you say you do this because 'its what you love to.' doesn't that seem selfish to you? just a bit of food for thought ;) you violent sicko

Their balance isn't thrown off because they aren't riding an animal that weights over 1500 pounds, be it a horse, or a bull. A helmet also impairs your vision to an extent, and I know from experience that you need all the vision you can get. Some choose to wear a helmet, some don't. It's their choice to ride with or without a helmet. Let them decide what they want to do.

Ice Hockey isn't nearly as intense or as precise as riding Bareback Horses, Saddle Broncs, and Bulls. Every little thing that you wear, or do can change the outcome of a ride. Less is more. People die in Rodeo, I've never heard of a single death in Hockey. The less you have on you bogging you down, the better off you'll be. The protective vest is really all you need.

IMO, people make fun of these athletes because of what Mauney says in this video. He does come off as not being the sharpest tack. Giving him the benefit of the doubt; his bravodo must be getting the better of him. One of his statement 'you always want to walk out' is contrary to the Standard of Care in medicine. Injuries including broken legs should not be moved or walked on because the broken bone tears capilliaries or worse, causing more bleeding... which can result in the loss of extremity.
