The Dangers of Dogs on Escalators

They seem instinctively to know that danger is lurking, and they're right. Dogs and escalators are not a good mix. Suki the chihuahua got her paws caught in the metal grate when she reached the top of an escalator. Her paws got chewed up, and she went to the vet for surgery. Vets say it's best to use the stairs or take the elevator when you have your dog with you. It doesn't matter how big the dog is, carrying them is the only safe way to go. #InsideEdition

I learned the hard way. My Boston Terrier had her paws chewed up. One of the workers from the Chicago Transit Authority was like your dog is bleeding, I looked down and a couple of her nails had been hacked off. I felt so stupid, had to rush her to the vet. Worst day of my life.

Just the other day I stumbled on a girls vlog showing her service dog (Siberian Husky) in action. At the end, the dogs nail had been split down the middle & had blood everywhere. The dog didnt show any signs of distress. She only noticed it when there was blood on the ground as they walked. She seemed to think it happened when another dog ran up wanting to play but I had a feeling it could've happened on the escalator.
