Interesting glimpse of the counterculture of the 1950s. The beatnik talks about how he is checking out because his generation wants to contemplate a better world than the one Danny's generation has created. Now today's young people are saying exactly the same thing to HIS peer group. Every generation blames the one before, nothing new about that.
