Beautiful. The single greatest 'comic book' movie of alltime for me. Ledger's performance still makes me cry it's so good.

The Lamborghini that Bruce is driving is a model called the "Murcielago" which is the Spanish word for "Bat." Even Bruce's civilian car could be called a "Batmobile."

The pencil reminds me of John Wick. Also Joker knew that Batman was going after Rachel. That's why he switched addresses. Every man's weaknesses is a girl.
@brianlazration493418 сағат бұрын
I don’t think the Joker knew who Batman would go after and frankly it didn’t matter. No matter who he went after, Batman would have not rescued who he intended. Joker set him up to lose either way.

@@brianlazration4934 Have to wonder what the Joker did after Batman left the room did he mess up a few more people or just leave since the his friend had left. Could easily see him letting his gang go wild or just walk out working on his next "plan".

The Joker said, "Do I really look like a guy with a plan? I just do things," but then later in the movie while he is talking through the intercom to the people on the boats, he is reading the monologue from a notebook. Which certainly shows some amount of planning. Also, when Joker gives the gun to Harvey Dent and gives him the option to shoot him in the head you can see one of the Joker's fingers holding the hammer of the gun. Even if Dent pulled the trigger the Joker could've been able to stop the gun from firing.
@ItApproaches9 сағат бұрын
Not so much a "plan" as it's "Oh I have an idea, lets do it!" He just goes with whatever thoughts pop in his head. He got the idea of the two boats and making a threat to the city and all that. Sure his speech he might have planned out, but his actions are chaotic and unpredictable. You can predict people who plan.

By far, THE VERY BEST Batman movie. The best Joker [and I love 92Joker also]. The best writing. But this young’in ( Heath ) was the most Joker you could get. He embodied that role!

The best Joker ever. Heather Ledger (RIP) was the one and only. For me also the best from this trilogy (because of Heather). So creepy to switch the adresses of Harvy and Rachel. So dark. And Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman are fitting also great in this trilogy. Think nothing so far can beat this movie. And as always love yor reactions.

Heath Ledger is rightfully acknowleged for his legendary performance however I do wish more people mentioned Eckhart's portrayal of Harvey Dent and his descent into madness. Ledger is so epic that he overshadows everyone but damn that's another great performance
@NecramoniumVideo14 сағат бұрын
I thought Echhart's display of Two Face was poor, mainly because when he became Two-Face, he was acting more like a angry Harvey Dent, he did not show two personalities as Two Face has.

For me, I rewatch this movie for one character only. Ledger's performance is indeed legendary.... but... Just as Samwise Gamgee is the true hero of Lord of the Rings... Jim Gordon is the true hero of this trilogy. He's just an ordinary cop... no ninja training, no billion dollar bank account, no genius scientist... just an ordinary man swimming in a sewer of corruption, trying to make a decent place to live for his wife and child. I don't know if this is Gary Oldman's best performance... but it's my favorite. I never go in for "superduperheroes" much. For me, to be a hero you must be inadequate and/or have something to lose. Maybe that's why I like Captain America, Audie Murphy, so much. He was inadequate, and he mostly fought to protect the men around him (and why I consider Steve Rogers such an insult to his memory). Gordon was vulnerable. Gordon had a family to lose. Gordon could easily see the safe and easy and _prosperous_ path. And before Bruce Wayne got over sulking in the far east, Jim Gordon was fighting the good fight... alone. You either die a hero... or you live to see your family and loved ones living in a decent society.

Some fun facts: 1) Heath Ledger would lick his lips to help keep the prosthetics that ran partially inside the sides of his mouth, from falling off and avoid having to go through the long hours of re-applying the Joker makeup. It seems every time he spoke, the prosthetics became loose; 2) the party scene was the first time Maggie Gyllenhaal saw Ledger in full character and in full makeup. She actually does flinch and cower in reaction to Ledger when he got close because she said it did scare her a bit; 3) there are reports that dispute the myth that ledger's puzzled reaction and shrug of the shoulders was improvised due to the delayed secondary explosion that demolishes the hospital. Some reports say the delay was intentional; 4) However, the exaggerated applause by Ledger when he was in the jail cell upon hearing the news that Gordon was promoted to police commissioner was improvised.

Hard choices about life or death decisions or 50 /50 chance of a coin. Escalation of power to meet the challenge. That is the main theme of this movie. The thing is every villan in Batman's his tory is basically part of his own personalities. His duality is tempered from him becoming just like those he wants to stop is his set of rules. Everyone in this movie had to make a hard choice for some it worked out other not so well. Ledger stole the show in this no need to elaborate any more every body else will have already .

Alfred burned the letter from Rachel because he knew it would cause Bruce far too much pain to know her true feelings. She chose Harvey over Bruce in the end, and that would have destroyed Bruce's mental state to the point that it would have interfered with his ability to carry out his role as Batman, which is what the city of Gotham needed so desperately. Alfred understood that the life and memory of one woman, even if that woman was Bruce's closest childhood friend and love of his life, was not more important than the future safety of every citizen of the city. Bruce would have mirrored that sentiment about any one individual, except for maybe Rachel, and so it became necessary to hide her words and feelings forever by burning them. You had just witnessed Bruce's alarming change of demeanor as Batman while interrogating the Joker about Rachel's location. That version of Batman, one that had lost Rachel and his fond memories of her forever, would have maybe been worse for the city than the criminals themselves.

The scene at Bruce Waynes party, 21:28 that is the first scene that was shot with Heath Ledger in the Joker persona. none of the other actors had seen him before in this costume and this character before. so some of the irritation and scare are true, cause this wasnt tested... this was a genuine reaction to the Joker

So when he's standing by the side of the street waiting for the car (ca 1:30 in your video), Joker is in his trademark facepaint with the rubber mask in his hand. Would that face make him look less suspicious than the mask? I just assume he didn't have time to remove the mask to do his makeup during the heist.

19:11 -- RE: Heath Ledger's Joker; As horrible as the news was regarding the actor's untimely demise following the success of this film and of course his amazing performance, it must have been completely disruptive to the "process" of this trilogy to have the character of the Joker survive in the script. In other words, there would have been a basic tension underlying the third film which is that Batman knows the Joker *might* be or become a factor, a bit like Hannibal Lecter in "Silence of the Lambs". But, because the Audience knows Heath Ledger is dead the chance of this being a thing is basically Zero, killing any potential ongoing tension.
