The Dark Knight Fighting Style | Keysi Fighting Techniques

In this Fight Scene Breakdown, we go step by step through a fast paced fight scene that is very difficult to see considering the lighting, editing, and angles. The Dark Knight has some great fight scenes, but this one was really challenging to figure out. Batman dispatches his many opponents with different techniques from Keysi, utilizing hammerfists mostly, but throws a headbutt in there for good measure...

Batfleck's fighting technique is superb but maybe too brutal and requires a great deal of strength from my view. Bale's Batman knows how to hit enemies in the weak spots and take them out swiftly and elegantly. Love u guys, keep up the good work! ❤️

Always wondered where this style of fighting originated from. Been studying boxing for years and it's pretty close to a lot of boxing and muay Thai techniques.

The Nolan Knight trilogy is one of the best representations of Batman ever, but he never knew how to block the scenes for fights or frame the scenes to showcases Batman's skills, ie strike point/individual moves. The debate though can be had that he just wanted to present violence not with any flourish or finesse but to be chaotic and swift and in that regard he completely succeeded, at least in the first two films.

Little correction: it seems that, after the disarm, he goes for a double hammer fist, but if you look closely, he actually only hits with one fist. Other than that, great video as always.

A knock out is all about hitting them at a certain spot when they don't expect it. It all depends on the individual with how long they would be knocked out for.

It depends on your environment. I like Keysi because it trains you to deal with multiple opponents. I find it to be quite effective through training

The only thing that makes the entire fight scene remotely realistic is that Batman already has the strength of The World’s Strongest Man and he’s wearing bulletproof armor and probably reinforced gloves. Otherwise those guys at the club would have killed him, even as poorly as they fought. We have now thousands and thousands of fights in Muay Thai and MMA. A healthy young adult man simply doesn’t get taken out by an elbow to the hip. POSSIBLY a woman only because her ovaries are there but tbh I doubt even that.

@@katokianimation Yo, that was 3 years ago. And nah, I still knew how to fight. I just had a weird view, when it came to media. It's not the art, it's the fighter. I was a wrestler and Krav guy with some Kajukenbk training. I only did Keysi for some of it's principles. And the choreographers themselves said, real Keysi would look too harsh, and children copy what they watch. The Dark Knight is a kids film. As a choreographer myself, I think that's dumb. It's the parents responsibility if their kids copy stuff they see. Get them in real classes and they can practice safely. Current I do JKD (for Kickboxing comps), BJJ, Wrestling, and Kali. Recently been thinking about going back to my Kajukenbo roots My gym made JKD's Wing Chun applications work in comp. I've made them work. It's all about the strategy, skill, and sparring you put in

Keysi is so dumb. You can see every strike coming a mile away and the blocking leaves you slow and open while obscuring 90% of your vision. Double handed interlock hammer fist... Pretty sure that moved only worked in 70s star trek. Just like a karate chop ko to the collar bone.
