I still don't get why people hate this film (at least in comparison to the 1st 2). I loved watching all 3 of these Batman movies when they came out & still enjoy watching them all these years later.

I don't get that hate either. My best guess would be that The Dark Knight Rises is the weakest of the three. This was one of the best movies

How Bruce Wayne managed to keep the Batwing in a steady course without it crashing into the water too soon (considering the lack of auto pilot) is beyond me. And earlier in the movie, Alfred said that every time he went to Florence, he had this "fantasy" that he would look across the tables in a cafe and see Bruce Wayne with a wife. Maybe the end is just another rendition of his "fantasies"

The autopilot was fixed by Bruce, and he went to that Cafe in Florence so that he could fulfill Alfred's dream. It was a fitting end to Bruce's story.

I love how Batman and Gotham police fight Bane and his men😁It's epic scene😁Maybe Bale takes on new identity-Nightwing.That is pretty cool😊Ending was completely real and lovely. There's not too much to think about it. Alfred told Bruce about his vacation in Florence. And Bruce goes there with Selina to give Alfred the conclusion. They smile and nod to each other,Selina doesn't see it. Bane is dark mirror of Bruce. That's what Bruce would become. And Talia. She's a hero or anti-hero in Arkham City.Perfect ending. One of the best trilogies ever!

Don't forget in batman superman generations Bruce was the only one he trusted to be batman so he kept 1 lazarus pit to keep him that way x wish dc would do that story it would be epic

The entire point of Bruce's character arc in the third film is that goes from being depressed and wanting to die as Batman to being willing to leave Batman behind and live a normal life. The fact that people think the movie ended with him unnecessarily sacrificing his life is hilarious.

Lol This needed to be explained? There's nothing complex at play, here. Rather straightforward storytelling. Especially in comparison to the other two. I love this film and absolutely love the Tale of Two Cities theme. A lot of people don't realize how cut to hell this particular film was. Original cut was around 4 hours long and the studio had Nolan cut over 30 minutes out. Those being Wayne's journey back to Gotham and Bane's rising in the League of Shadows and completed backstory.

@@anthonywrasslin while I would definitely be interested in Nolan's version of a supernatural kind of Batman, I'm afraid the Dark Knight Rises ending is just as it is. He said that he had no autopilot, but the engineers investigating the software of the Bat reveal to Fox that Wayne had actually fixed the autopilot months prior. And then the following scene shows that the ones reading off the items of the estate, they say how the string of pearls that Selena had tried to steal at the start of the film were still missing. And what's around Selena's neck at the Cafe in Florence, with Bruce? The pearls. Bruce definitely staged his own death so that he could disappear and have a happy life that isn't touched by tragedy and pain and in his final act, made sure those closest to him knew that he had lived. Fox, Alfred, Gordon and Blake.

@@anthonywrasslin I really do like your idea of there being some sense of ambiguity in it. I think after seeing Inception, audiences went into The Dark Knight Rises with that same expectation of being shocked with twists and ambiguous endings. Not going to lie, when Rahs Al Ghul appears to Bruce in the cell, I seriously held my breath in the theater, because I thought they were finally going for it. The supernatural take on immortality and everything. But then he vanished, revealing it to be more like a hallucination. I really hope we get to see a more supernatural leaning Batman in the future. A Batman universe that can see Clayface and Deadcroc show up.

I would’ve made Blake become Batboy; more worthy than Robin but not as worthy as Batman but as he becomes a better character, he becomes more worthy of Batman but would still go by Batboy to lower his enemies’ guards down & then ultimately striking them

I believe she stabbed him in the same spot the joker did in the dark knight the knife probably hit some thick scar tissue and wasn't able to go deeper. Also her aim wasn't to kill him yet just stun him.

@@thedarkcriminal1658 no he stabbed him in the side during their final fight it's why he's holding his side at the end. Everyone thinks it's because Harvey shot him but his armor took the hit. Joker stabbed him in-between the plates like how lucius warned him when he got the new suit.

Ok so Bruce fixed the autopilot? When would he have had the time? He was in the prison then snuck back without being noticed, then what figured out the autopilot while his city was under siege, then entered the city and did the rest of the movie. I agree he did and survived but the time line doesn’t make sense.
