I don't reckon it's the elite or any human hunting mad men that orchestrated it all, I subscribe to the idea that the devs at first suggested before they did whatever they bloody did to the lore, that the Sculptor is laying the foundations for his arrival, being too weak (mayhaps) to enter our dimension but strong enough to influence it. As seen with the Demented Pact they often mimick the bosses in appearance and hunt the bosses because they see them as faulty designs, fancying themselves the true harbingers of the Sculptor. So the dude seems to still play a role in it all. To explain hunters killing hunters; greed, fear, etc. Horrifying eldritch bounty? Someone is gonna pay big moolah for that. The Sculptor can possess anyone? Trust no one. Hope Crytek dont muck up the lore...
@marcuso.5309 ай бұрын
I'm not familiar on the lore for Hunt just yet. What's the Sculptor? Is it a demon or an Eldritch monstrosity? (personally hoping it's not a demon because that can get overplayed)
@IronCrawdady9 ай бұрын
@@marcuso.530 Its been a hot minute since I played the game(Before they even released the Croc boss) the Sculptor is a creature, man or demon we do not know that 'made' the bosses. In the crow boss trailer we see him do just that. Its most likely a dude(possibly possessed) making more of those creature to make more and more portals so to bring in some type of entity.

Trust is expensive, betrayal is cheap.
@NerzJansch29 ай бұрын
@@IronCrawdady It´s meant to be a Loa, which is a spiritual ghost/god/being thing from vodoo. The bosses are corrupted versions of things allready existing in the "real" world and all have their purpose in the grand plan, or atleast used to but the guys responsible for new lore never bothered to read the weapon entries. The butcher is meant as a defense mechanism, the assasin, well an assasin, scrapbeak is a collector of things to be used by the sculpor or atleast those influenced by him (scrapcages, shrines, all of those scrap buildings, "armour" worn by dogs,grunts etc) and the spider is suppossedly (some old lore about it but it´s been years) meant to keep the corruption inside the affected lands and stop the infection from spreading, since it´s spread by insects. Also, flies, moths and beetles and all of that is implies to be connected to the sculptor too, maggots in grunts blood and all of that. And rotjaw is something with the "land of the dead", which now it´s implied the sculptor has been acting from the land of the dead this whole time and opening rifts to it, but it´s not the first time and so on. Tldr: Vodoo ghost, possesion and dimensional rifts
@NerzJansch29 ай бұрын
@@IronCrawdady The guy in the crow video is the plague doctor hunter. Might´ve been one of the first demented or atleast influenced by the sculptor due to being mad allready. Would be weird that the AHA is issuing bounties if they’re the ones profiting from the hunt? Though maybe it’s more of a “winner takes all” tournament where you pay to enter (and of course the AHA takes their cut out of the prize pool). Very interesting video!

I've always been curious about this series. These lore vids might be a good way to get into them. Is there a single player version of this game or is it solely the extraction aspect? Also, is it solely demons or is there something more eldritch at play with the story?
@omnissiah78599 ай бұрын
Demons play a much lesser part in the corruption than eldritch entities. The Sculptor is solely to blame for what's happening in Lousiana, a godlike eldritch being who enjoys, well, sculpting and creating new servants of his cause. The corruption itself is interesting as it is both an biologically infesting plague as well as religiously, as seen with the Immolators. There is no single-player mode to speak of, Hunt is a PvPvE extraction shooter, but there is a lot of lore hidden behind entries in the "Liber de Armamentariis" - the weapon book and the "Liber de Monstrorvm" - the monster book. You unlock entries in there by pretty much just playing the game.

Hello everyone. I may have some info y’all might find interesting. I’m from south Louisiana. Grew up here. BIG gamer. But also part time Cajun man. Anywho. My former guitarist showed me this game. And he mentioned (I can’t find this source) that it took place in Erwinville and the surrounding areas. I was very familiar with the area because our drummer lived in a place called fordoche which was about 10 minutes down the road. That area has several names. But I can see the similarities. RE7 did a magnificent job of making the setting VERY real life lore accurate. Only thing that got me was when Marg is pursuing you she says “Cher” like it’s the name. When it is actually Cajun French and is pronounced “sha”. Idk. That’s not interesting info. But I thought maybe y’all could use a little reference. Thank you for the video. You do good work! Edit: the band I was in at the time was Called Swamp Stank. I’m not with them anymore but they DO have new music coming. Least I could do is shout them out lol. After all if it weren’t for my guitar player showing me this, I may never have been as interested.

The hunt was triggered by the AHA, but orchestrated by the daemon knowing that their lust for the hunt would give it the perfect grounds to spread. I feel you are way off on believing that the association is to blame primarily by looking at the names hunters in the game. They come from all walks of life not just ritch aristocrats. My theory is that the hunters association works as a mix of the league of extraordinary gentlemen and the mib. They act as a guardians of humanity placing bounties on the various supernatural creatures and recruiting individuals who have skills that give them a chance against such creatures. Bandits, bounty hunters, trappers, doctors, priests, and madmen all have their own skills and knowledge that let them take on the supernatural creatures of the bayou. They keep it quiet to keep people from panicking or investigating it themselves and anyone who stumbles in on their operation are sent to the asylum to keep the secret safe.

Minor quibble: Labor Day was originally designed as an American alternative to "May Day" - a holiday to celebrate workers that is celebrated the world over. American capitalists saw it as an international rallying cry for labor, and sought to dismantle it by making an alternative that was "patriotic."

The caldwell letters literally revolve around the chain pistol. That´s it. It was a new design and there´s another entry about how when tried by hunters they blew up in their hands due to chainfire. The uppermat is another one of caldwells prototypes. Also, caldwell stoles his fathers personal revolver before making his way to the bayou where he presumably perished since there is no later mention of him after huffs death. Oh yeah, and the sculpor is a Loa, a vodoo ghost/entitity that lives in the land/dimension of death and is opening rifts to the "real" world that cause otherworldy influence, besides his active sculpting. Usually his sculpted creatures have some purpose, like the spider containing the "infection" inside the bayou, the butcher fighting hunters, the assasin being active in new orleans etc etc

I don't think it was the AHA that actually caused the Louisiana Event, from the letter to Marie Laveau I'm getting the impression that they just knew was that something bad was about to happen in Louisiana and they had a good idea of what form it would take. I mean even the name American Hunters Association gives me the impression that there are other associations around the world dealing with similar things. It also makes a lot of the other letters make sense because them inviting Caldwell into the Association immediately prior to the Event when he's a weapon inventor tells me they were thinking they'd need the firepower to deal with whatever was going to happen. The Guardini and Abdulahziz letters support that theory too, since it looks like Abdulahziz was part of another Hunters Association or at like part of some society that knew about the demonic and fought them. I would guess that they contacted his organization as backup and contacted Guardini just to have another skilled killer who wouldn't ask too many questions to throw at the demon. That would explain the railway tixkets too since those guys would be either Association hunters or contractors coming to help with the Event.

Okay so while i think this is a great summary of the scrapbook, i do believe that it's retconned/outdated lore. Especially the whole demon route is a false conclusion, the answer was literally right in the text. It's not a demon, it's a Sculptor, a godlike Eldtritch being creating these monsters from it's seat in the Land of the Dead. The why and how are still unknown and the AHA definetly has some fault in this, considering how corrupted it seems to be if you can believe the lore entries, but overall i would consider the scrapbook either retconned or very false.

I find it unlikely that the rich elites went to THIS much trouble just to hunt humans. If they truly wanted to hunt humans, there were any number of places they could go and get into such trouble at that time. Without having to worry about outsiders finding out about it. A simple trip up the amazon would get all the live action human hunting human they could want. As well as any number of places in the Pacific. Or they could simply buy an island and set up as was seen in The Most Dangerous Game (novel and movie)
