Just a theory: what if the reason why the rocks pirate was defeated is not only becoz of the team up of garp and roger. Maybe Teach is essentially a result of Xebec who used the Op-Op no Mi or some other fruit to switch his personality to transplant his personality into that of a child which would be Teach. It would explain why Teach would change from a young man who once believed in freedom of Pirates Dreams into a perverted variation of it in one where he rules it. Also if he did have 2 souls or personalities in him then that could account the two fruits. The Yami-Yami that represents the Darkness of Rocks D Xebec and the Gura-Gura that represents the waves his meeting and joining Whitebeard was for him. Heck even his flag could represent it. Three skulls for three fruits or a cerberus but what it it was more like the devil and angel on the shoulders? Two skulls or souls with different natures behind or influencing one main skull/ body?

And maybe Whitebeard actually didn't want to but due to his honor obliged as obeying an order from his captain plus maybe he did want to raise Blackbeard but not to be the monster his father was. On the latter he failed but he did not have any regret as he obeyed an order from his captain. Apart from BB's personality as explained in the comments he also wants to take the best (Impel Down tournament) his ships are in the shape of a Xebec and his island is Xebec's old island. Maybe is his son or a reincarnation of Xebec but surely there is a connection which Oda sensei will reveal.

There are definitely something hidden with Blackbeard. He is strong, being able to give Shanks his signature scar even before Blackbeard being known as Yonko, enough to make Shanks very cautious of him and requested Whitebeard to instruct Ace to retreat from pursuing Blackbeard. Even in earlier encounter, when Roger Pirates vs Whitebeard Pirates in a flashback, Buggy said Blackbeard never sleep in all the time they partied together.

Im 75% sure Dragon was partially inspired to start the rebellion because of Rocks. When Sengoku mentioned Rocks was into discovering the world's taboos i imagine he exposed alot of corruption and some of that info made its way to dragon today, somehow. [Theory] Rocks D. Xebec was the previous wielder of the Yami Yami no Mi. Along with his apparent charisma and overwhelming physical strength, I believe Rock D. Xebec held another devastating power: the Yami Yami no Mi. Obviously, it’s impossible to know for sure if Xebec was even a devil fruit user at all. But here are some interesting ideas: 1. In terms of “inherited will”, it’s obvious that Luffy is meant to carry on Roger’s will. In a similar vein, I believe Blackbeard, the current user of the Yami Yami no Mi, is carrying on Xebec’s will. Their overlap appears to be in their thirst for power and conquest, as well as violence and destruction for violence and destructions sake. In an even more direct sense, Blackbeard wields the same devil fruit to directly parallel his predecessor. 2. Xebec met his downfall at God Valley at the hands of Garp and Roger. We know for a fact that Garp is a master of Haki, and is NOT a devil fruit user, which would have given him a HUGE advantage against the Yami Yami no Mi, seeing as Garp would not have lost any abilities in the fight. The same might be assumed for Roger, though his devil fruit or lack thereof are yet to be determined. Xebec, who would likely be both arrogant and a master with his devil fruit, might not expect having no effect on Garp or possibly Roger. Adding in the extra damage the Yami Yami no Mi user takes, and this battle looks increasingly in favor of Garp and Roger. 3. The disappearance of God Valley could also be attributed to the Yami Yami no Mi (this is honestly my least strong idea, but still a possibility). During the climax of battle, it is possible that the Yami Yami no Mi was used to destroy the island, in a last ditch effort by Xebec to take down Garp and Roger. Instead, Xebec may have destroyed himself along with the island, though I’m not sure how the rest of the Rocks Pirates or marines would have escaped. 4. We know the reason Blackbeard joined the Whitebeard pirates in the first place was to find the Yami Yami no Mi. It is possible that he learned of the God Valley incident somehow, and decided he wanted to follow in Xebecs footsteps, carrying on Xebecs will even more directly. Overall, in my opinion, it would make sense that somebody as feared and powerful as Xebec would be the user of an equally feared and powerful ability: becoming a master of darkness. Something about his imagery and depictions relating him to a devil/satan help lend itself to this idea. Let me know what you think!

The driving force behind the Yonko really seems to be Xebec and the Worst Generation are a group of pirates that all set off at around the same time taking up Rogers’ open challenge to everyone to find the One Piece.

My theory is that two of the World Nobles that Roger and Garp were protecting were young Shanks and young Marshall D. Teach. After seeing this, Shanks was ultimately inspired to find Roger and join him while Marshall D. Teach was influenced by Xebec's power and decided to grow up to repeat what Xebec started

Luffy admires Roger. Teach admires Xebec. I do have the theory that the reason Teach started his journey by stealing the Darkness Devil Fruit is because it was that of Xebec, he recognized it immediately and definitively will not let anyone but himself be its user, explaining his determination on murdering one of his crewmates. This also will explain Whitebeard reluctant attitude towards Ace quest for justice as the Darkness Fruit brought to him PSTD related to his former captain. Teach philosophy is a byproduct of his admiration for Rocks as the infamous captain terrible acts of villainy did shake the world.

Whitebeard clearly had a troubled childhood and likely had to do many thinks he disliked in order to protect himself and his "family". He's clearly influenced by the D's as they already exude a personalities that I can easily imagine would lend itself to Whitebeards goals. Why not do a little good in the middle of all this evil happening around him? He obviously harbors no soft feeling towards the WG; so if he can make his own justice in the midst of this chaos, he could find what he's looking for after all. I can also imagine a moment in the fighting at God Valley, where WB may have somewhat of a Katakuri moment. I really want this battle and the events that led to it to be turned into the next One Piece movie.

After watching this, I am convinced that blackbeard will be getting the two devil fruits owned by kaido and big mom. The three skulls represents the three fallen pirates, whitebeard, kaido and big mom. While the black flag is the darkness represented by Blackbeard himself together with his devilfruit and the will of xebec.

My only issue with that is Whitebeard and Big Mom both have Paramecia type devil fruits. I think Blackbeard will have 3 of the strongest devil fruits, one from each category. A mythical Zoan fruit is definitely his target either way. Kaido's ability is a good match but I think he would actually target Marcus Tori Tori no Mi because of its regenerative power. It would completely counteract the weakness of his darkness devil fruit.

Can I just toss something in the room: With the defeat of Xebec it seems like his importance in this world seem to vanish. And this became all the more clear when Roger was named the pirate king, because what is the goal of Kaido and Big Mom? It´s not to follow their last captain and become the king of the world it´s to follow the man who defeated him and became kig of the pirates. Xebec is dead and his death was pretty much in vain, caring no future will into the generation after him. Compare that to Roger who will always be remembered as the king of the pirates and started the great age of piracy. Who knows the name Rocks pirates despite them being such important figures today? Probably no one except a few. The only thing the seems to carry from Xebec into the modern day of One Piece is Blackbeard, and we don´t know his goal could be the same as Xebec´s, but I think there is also the great chance it is not

I'm sure the Rocks Pirates had low-level cannon fodder to fill out the ranks and do menial tasks. As infamous as they were, they must have had a huge pool of recruits. Plus, extra soldiers add to the shock value much like Storm Troopers.

I want to pitch something here and now, because otherwise I'll forget entirely. What if God Valley was the location of the alliance of twenty kingdoms that founded the World Government to defeat the Ancient Kingdom, and what if Rocks was holding the secret of the Void Century hostage? It leaves a lot of specifics unanswered, but I can't think of any other way to exert the kind of pressure to force the World Nobles to set foot on the Blue Sea besides buying slaves. Or, potentially, there could be some sort of ritual where the World Nobles (who, if memory serves, are the descendants of the royal families of the aforementioned twenty kingdoms) return to God Valley, if it is indeed where the World Government and the World Noble system by extension originated? Having the secret that acts as the lynchpin holding the world together and the ambition to use it for personal gain is a pretty scary thing; imagine if Rocks intended to kill the World Nobles and then just let the cat out of the bag, plunging the world into full scale war. The alliances which allow for a semblance of peace would dissolve just like that when they realize whatever dirty deeds the World Government's founders did that were so severe, they have to wipe islands off the map to keep it from getting out. Just spitballing here.

Rocks D Xebec's identity revealed! (Note: Troll post. I was bored) Guys! Rocks D Xebec is none other than YUJIRO HANMA! He was so bored with all the strength he possessed, that no one could make him taste 'defeat', that he simply fisted the air HARD in anger and rage! So strong was his punch that it transcended space and time and caused Yujiro to land in the One Piece world! He was overjoyed as his Hanma blood could 'feel' the presence of monsters who could give him a good fight! He punched many powerful dudes, punched a few dudes more and formed a pirate crew. He saw potential in young apprentice Kaido and made sure to train him harder than his son! Kaido realized that he needed to become stronger to survive Yujiro and started training harder than Vegeta trying to surpass Goku! Even today Kaido remembers Yujiro's hands as he tries to forget that memory by drinking gallons and gallons of sake. Yujiro attracted a lot of powerful men who challenged him for the title of the 'strongest', but were quickly shown their place in the world by Yujiro''s fists and humbly joined his crew. Charlotte Linlin, Edward Newgate, Captain John, Silver Axe WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG ZHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIII! (Said in Tekking 101's voice) were but a few monsters who crept about quietly on the DEVIL's ship! Of course, Yujiro made haste to go to God Valley by running over the sea as the Hanma blood within him was capable of such feats. He punched The marines, the elite guards and the Aigis Zero so hard that their blood stained the White White Sea causing the Shandorans to wonder what the f__k was going down in the world below. Seeing the Celestial Dragons whimper and shiver in fear was most hilarious to Yujiro indeed! He reared his head back, clenched his face muscles and laughed an ungodly laugh worthy of the strongest creature in the world. Them 'gods' begged Saint Garling Figarland to save them but Yujiro kicked him in his nuts, retiring him for the time being. Yujiro then reached up to a particularly grotesque looking Celestial Dragon who had stained his pants yellow and flicked his nose with his little finger. The flick was so strong that the head of that Celestial Dragon flew over the grand line like a football and landed at Fleet Admiral Kong's office in Marine Ford causing him to spit his miso soup all over the documents needing his approval. The Gorosei were enraged at this sh** that was going at God Valley! Saint J Garcia Saturn was there of course, but he couldn't transform into his monstrous cow spider demon form before an audience so he had to use his diplomacy to confront Yujiro. When that failed, he jumped at him to give him a beating but was beaten instead! IM Sama was asleep and could not be bothered. Seeing Saint J Garcia Saturn or 'Spider cowboy' as Samurai Gandhi Ethan Baron V Nasujuro called him being beaten, made him so angry that he tore out his hair, became bald and ordered Kong to do whatever he can to DESTROY this demon! A crew member with a telekinesis devil fruit informed Yujiro about this, causing him to get more excited than a masochist who's just been arrested by the Spanish Inquisition (didn't expect us to show up here did ye?) Monkey D Garp realised that alone he was not strong enough and asked GOL D ROGER who was chilling at Marineford for some reason, to assist him in the fight. Undoutebly the Future King of the Pirates agreed and they RUSH B'd to God Valley screaming URRRAAAAAAAAAA all the way! Yujiro threw the first punch at Monkey D Garp causing a sonic boom! Garp blocked the punch with his haki'd up fist and created another sonic boom! Gol D Roger haki'd up so hard that it stained his moustache black! He got so excited with the fight that he started to laugh, which caused Yujiro to laugh as he recognized that they were not so different! Seeing this Monkey D Garp started to laugh as he didn't understand why the f_k they were laughing and didn't wanted to be left out and they started to beat the Binks's Sake out of each other with smiles on their faces! The damage caused by the sheer BADASSNESS of their fight created giant fissures in the ground. The sea started to flood in causing the survivors to scream! All the Celestial dragons died. All the fodder marines died. Kaido who was brutally beaten in his nuts by Monkey D Garp started to cry causing Charlotte Linlin to slap him to get him back to normal! She then found the mystical Duck Dragon Fish Devil Fruit Uo Uo Nomi, Model Shenron in an altar and Kaido to swallow it, punching his stomach when he refused to do so, with the hope that it would be strong enough to help him get his A55 out of there as she could not take him with her the f_k out of there! Those who were lucky enough to live ran or swam the f_k out of there, noped their way out of there, carrying with them a tale so epic, it would be told to their great, great, great grandchildren! Yujiro was tired but satisfied and he thanked Monkey D Garp and Gol D Roger for the epic fight. He then punched the air so hard that it transcended space and time and came back to his own world, leaving behind a monumental scale of destruction, a very tired and confused Vice Admiral who was scratching his head as what to write about the f_k that happened here in his report and a very tired but satisfied future King of Pirates who promised to treat his best frenemy with the finest grog money could buy! The Gorosei could neither make head nor tail about the report and simply ordered that the matter was to be forgotten as they posed awesomely in the ROOM OF AUTHORITAY as if they were bout to drop another album. Later, Yujiro told General Strydum about his adventure in that world causing him to 'whoa' several times with his mouth open! Yujiro just drank the finest scotch his money could buy and reminsced about the A55 whoopin he got by that monster with the fist and that mustachioed demon and told to himself that he would not rest until he gets Baki to beat him as hard as those two, finished his scotch and went to sleep.
