Beautiful scenery! Abd well done on the Land Rover. I've always loved them, since I was a little kid in the US. Have you seen and good Northern Lights up by you?
@ruthbaird16469 күн бұрын
I love the fact you showed us how the bumper was held on to Yolanda. My Dad bought a brand new blue 12 seater, safari roofed, long wheel based 1967 Land Rover. My Dad ordered it to come with heavy duty springs on it too. I wasn’t impressed, until one day in Cumbernauld my Dad and 6 strong men he had employed to lift his newly designed bumpers on the front and rear. The bumpers were made from cast iron, were pre-galvanised, welded and powder coated several times in high gloss black paint. I do remember seeing my Dad all the way underneath the vehicle, only his legs were seen when the men lifted them on and held them in place while he tightened the bolts on the underside. Undoubtedly he’d had a frame made that was used to fix the bumpers on to either end of the Land Rover. I miss that Land Rover! I wonder if it’s still alive and running about somewhere in the world, if only I could find an old image with the license plates, but then what, where could I find out? Love the outtakes.

I loved that tip about being able to buy lids for the Gu pots. We have ended up putting the glass jars in the recycling because we had no use for so many but maybe buying lids would solve that problem. And, I totally understand the satisfaction of making labels, brilliant fun.

You gave us such beautiful veiws of the castle that many of us would never be able to see without your drone footage. I really enjoyed this videoand seeing you use the rust stuff my oh used to use on his mowers when restoring or mending them. Thanks for taking us all along with you three once again. I so look forward to Sunday evenings and the company of you three. Sarah I hope the ait tight lids work ok but it would still be a good idea to move them more away from the cooker. As always stay safe and hope to see you next week.♥.

Dear Sarah, As a fellow nerd I want you to know that I alphabetize all of my spices and herbs which I place on three lazy susans in my cupboard (on two shelves). Long live organized geeks! Nice job on the Landy, Willie. And as always, enjoyed the drive to the castle. Seeing the marvelous Skye scenery is a treat. Love and hugs from me in New Mexico USA.

I see that you were prompted to visit Duntulm Castle from reading the book by Otta Swire. You may know this but Otta Swire’s granddaughter, Flora, was killed in the Lockerbie plane terrorist attack and is buried in the small cemetery at St. John’s chapel just south of Dunvegan. It is a small but beautifully atmospheric place and well worth a visit.

Thanks for the castle video. We tried but failed to get there earlier this year, parking full. We did park further along the coast and intended to walk back to the castle. However whilst walking around the Hunish peninsula it absolutely hammered down with real Skye style rain! We were absolutely soaked so gave up on the castle and went back to our campervan to dry out. Sarah, what an amazing find are those Gu pot lids......genius, we've got loads of pots, will be ordering some lids very soon. Thanks both for another great vlog.

Laughed at the " questionable mustard powder" have you tried using it on roast potatoes? I part boil my potatoes, then drizzle a little olive oil over the drained potatoes sprinkle a good bit of mustard( acouple of good teaspoonfulls) over the potatoes, put the pan lid on and give them a good shake then roast as normal. The potatoes go a lovely golden brown and taste delicious- you can't taste the mustard! But lovely roasties!!!😊❤

Enjoyed that! Good tip when living in a rural area, keep a small plastic tub of dog kibble in the car, if you encounter a stubborn bull or sheep you can shake the tub and they will often think it's the farmer feeding time and move towards the noise, plus jack can use the treats when out and about

You two are far braver than ! I chickened out on going into Duntelm Castle, so it was lovely to see the inside. Any hope of you filming going up the Quirang from the Staffin side? Not sure that it's Jack-friendly, though... apparently some of it is a bit of a scramble..
