@Furious Taco Warrior There is no before the big bang if time didn't exist as you say. In eternalism the universe doesn't appear at the beginning, rather the beginning is the earliest point in time. Try to understand that difference. Eternalism is more logically consistent than presentism and is confirmed by relativity. It means spacetime is an static object that cannot be created or destroyed. Assuming an infinite past instead, infinite regress is not a problem in eternalism, just like infinite space is not a problem in presentism. I agree with a necessary existance. That has to be reality itself, which the universe is only a part of. There is nothing necessary about god having preferences, morality, dogma and other flavor.

He was alarmed by the perception that humanity, or at least European humanity had lost its faith in metaphysical providence. With no God we must create our own values and discipline and comfort ourselves, since life then has no preset meaning and no super being. I am pretty sure that it contributed to his actual losing of his mind that happened before he died.

When I listen to Subboor I think 'is he stuck in the 19th century? We've moved on from' Darwinism'. He seems to deliberately avoid modern science and philosophy in order to cherry pick out of date arguments, no one is actually making, simple to avoid having to provide any evidence at all for his God. Like all the apologists, they can get to Deism, the idea there is a creator, but they can't seem to get from Deism to Islam, or Christianity, or Vahalla. That's the leap of 'faith'.

How incredibly anecdotal and specific, taking a fascinating case study of a man who goes from a religious background to an atheist and back, which, is a far point to levy but is also incredibly misleading. Human’s aren’t so flat and simple that deciding to be an atheist means that there isn’t a long term goal or loss of reason for ones actions. The context of the entire “God is dead” statement is so much deeper that just “no god is bad”, it in fact was both a thought experiment and exploration of a pantheistic world (a world based on many gods as an argument against the idea of one god and a harmonious universe). Nietzsche also wasn’t saying that a world without god would lead to an existential crisis, he both implicitly and extremely explicitly used it to question how morality will change due to a dechristianisation of laws and teachings in everyday life. the motivation we ascribe to power cannot and does not rely on objective facts. it’s ridiculous and straw man like to say that only looking at goals set by what we consider a higher power are powerful when, if one is motivated enough, a goal set by oneself is incredible. It’s frankly insane how much context is ignored here, especially with your constant mention of Europe’s shift to atheist ideals. the most cited reason for atheistic shifts, especially in the west, is the first (or second) world war, this incredible loss of life and brutal slaughter caused many to lose their faith and abandon the worship of a God who stood by and let it happen. Science is objectively a worldview, your excellently misleading point of mathematics being unilateral doesn’t apply since looking at the world scientifically is just the simple way of being able to actually and perfectly explain why something happens in the universe, insignificant or not. nice job speaking about all atheists like it’s a unified group such as catholics or sunnis and not simply believing that there isn’t a God. You’ve declared that atheistic goals (making a change in the world based on ones own decision or motivation) is an invalid idea, based on assuming and generalising about people going “it’s all just atoms” and saying that people thinking about that, something; that I and many other atheists I know consider a lot, makes us thinks there is no motivation or reason for anything. On the point of motivation, saying that motivation or drive becomes fallacy under a scientific perspective is nearsighted since we tend to cite wants or needs, caused by an incredible amount of chemical reactions causing serotonin production. Being an Atheist (or in my case rather "agnostic") is not a "choice". If there was a clear indication that a being like (a) God exists I would have no problems in acknowledging it. Fact is that none of the big three is giving a decent hint on his existence nor does any other religion I heard of. Saying that our purpose is "to serve him" is simply far to shallow. In the case of Islam the self serving purpose of the Quran is all to obvious (to outsiders at least). If one is seeking a physical tangible proof for the Creator, that means the person is assuming the Creator is something physical and tangible. To believe that the Creator is something physical and tangible is a logical absurdity. The proof for the existence of the Creator is: 1) The world is (it exists) 2) The world can't be beginningless (for that would lead to the absurdity of an infinite regression) 3) The world can''t be self-created (the non-existent can't bring something into being (or bring itself into being)) Hence--one concludes that something other than the world brought the world into being. And that One would not be subject to what all phenomena is subject to--such as, time, origination, change, space, size, etc. And from this, it would be known that the Creator isn't something tangible or physical (or spatial).

Take for example "O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet except when you are permitted for a meal, without awaiting its readiness." The sentence is clearly about Mohamed's house, not about "anybodies" house. If this sentence was "addressed to the whole mankind" it could be much clearer with a different wording. So in other words: it's only 'for' and 'about' Mohamed.

@samuel barry we human beings are social beings. We cannot live without other people. For example, the food you eat, it is made from someone. Can you make your own food from scratch? From planting a seed so it can grow to a plant so it gives you food. You care for something (a plant for example) for yourself. Caring others is like caring your own self. If you still don’t care about living beings, so be it. I respect your opinion. If you feel like that you are in a state that you don’t need to care because (for example) your life is good and you don’t need to do anything to appreciate someone, in other words when you have no problems that you need somebody besides yourself. Nobody knows if you can be still like that forever. Everyone has their own problems, you could help them and other people could help you. Hi, I am a proud nihilist., This is for all the thiests, How do you know your God/ Religion is not make believe? Humans have been alive for 1000s of years, yet no proof of a "god" apart from a few books that every religion has, its like saying i believe in batman, because i have read the comic. You pursue me, insisting that I have to believe in your dragon, saying that I can’t be a good person if I don’t believe in your dragon because morality comes from your dragon and also your version of the holy book of the dragon(there is however many types of holy book of the dragon,) and claiming that the reason I don’t is because I don’t “understand,” and that you’ll try to “explain” your dragon to me and also showing your holy book of the dragon over and over again until I believe you. For the rest of my life, you and your dragon-believing friends pursue me - even knocking on my door, demanding that I hear you out - to wheedle or pressure or demand that I believe in your dragon, call me names if I don’t, try to make me act as though I believed in your dragon, insist that just saying I don’t believe in your dragon is “offensive” to you, and attempt to pass penalties for not believing in your dragon into the law. So many bad faith arguments in this segment; sadly this ruse is sufficient to manipulate those lacking an educated background. It's interesting that you've labeled science as a tool, yet religion is as well. The difference between science and religion is democratization and evolution. So while the tool of science is being constantly refined to improve the living standards, the comfort of the world, and a bridge into the future... religion is a tool to limit and control the human potential. The world is not so black and white as to constrain human existence to the simple dogmas of mental slavery (religion) or hedonism; such vapid ramblings can only extend from an individual who has never truly experience the breadth of what it means to live. Most religions are toxic to human nature, but Buddhism has come the closest to ascertaining the meaning of life, which is simply this: a means for the universe to experience itself. It is true that when one accepts the reality of atheism, which is simply the lack of believe in supernatural religions, that nihilism can overwhelm those that had a previous religious upbringing. But that is not because of atheism itself, but because they individual had been brainwashed their entire lives to believe in a _need_ for an _external purpose_ which is a completely false narrative. The purpose of self is internal, hence why the Buddha found meditation to be a useful tool in mastering self-awareness, which leads into a state of nirvana; that is, the realization that the self is merely a window through which _the universe_ achieves self-awareness. The claim that atheists are indifferent to smashing a mannequin vs a human being is patently absurd; that is merely your own _flawed projection_ of nihilism as the basis for atheism. But here you are relying on an informal fallacy by misattribution; you are citing a false definition, and then claiming your flawed deduction must be true. Even a novice rhetorician can see right through such tricks. The true nihilists are the religious zealots that cling to unfalsifiable assertions of supernatural existence, from which inherently flawed intellectual beings are charged with paying a lifetime of atonement and worship to unknowable beings while fighting amongst each other over who's juvenile interpretations of existence is more correct and that is uncontrollably determined by ones place of birth. There is absolutely no meaning in such a ridiculous religious-based existence; how absurd. No, the purpose of life is universal introspection.
