For me one of biggest impact on Tariq was hating his past self. Tariq changed shocked me a lot. Initially he appeared, as rather introvert kid that prefers to stay at home and play video games. He didn't go outside his comfort zone that much. To the point that he was almost always in background and never spoke much. This is probably because he was jealous of Raina. How successful she was, and how much she was praised. This left him with insecurities that he tried to keep to himself. When Ghost and Tasha broke, he felt more confused than angry. As he had not much problem to live in Angela apartment. Biggest change obviously came upon meeting Kanan. Current version of Tariq is truly Kanan Junior. Somebody who accomplishes everything with pride, power and force. He is impatient and arrogant. I think Tariq new persona, is result of hating his own former weak self. He wants others to fear him, he wants to show power to forget how weak he was in the past. His hatred for his father awakened only when, he gathered enough confidence.

He’s not a sociopath or a psychopath. He simply mimics his father who he hates, but cannot shake the genetic personality given to him by his father’s influences. It wasn’t until his father cheated on his mom that Tariq found out who his dad was, and did not like that. Then Ghost got caught cheating and kick out the house, which broke up the family and gave Tariq a lot of time alone. Cane comes back and put Tariq under his wing and tell him everything his dad wouldn't; The Truth. Some people have reasons to believe ghost dying is because the creator wanted omari the actor gone from the show. There was rumors of sex harassment keep in mind the creator is a woman. There is also rumors of the creator having issues with her father herself and she wrote it into her storyline.🤔 I no longer watch power due to the overload of drug dealer shows and movies all they are to me is retelling of old classic white gangster movies like scarface and the godfather.😒

The fact that Ghost NEVER spent time with his son ever and when he did he didn’t think how his double life had a check on his head from all of his enemies. He waited too long to try and be active with Tariq hence he was too busy trying to cover and hide stuff and got sloppy got arrested was trying to hard to find stuff out and another enemy turned that switch in Tariq head. Kanan spent more time with Tariq than ghost ever did. Ghost claimed he wanted to change but he didn’t put no energy into his family until the streets made him come back to that penthouse for his own gain.

Did you not watch the show? Ghost did spend time with Tariq, but after he cheated, Tasha wouldn't let him come back home. There's a scene in the first season where Tariq sneaks out to Ghost's apartment to watch a basketball game with him because that was something that they always did. Tariq hated Ghost because he was a kid, and learned that the reason behind him not being at home was because he cheated, therefore Tasha resented him. Which influenced him to feel a form of dislike for him as well. All it took was kanan sealing the deal

@@slaeor Him spending time with Tariq happened after he got found out for cheating. I watched the show first air date and over and over until this day so I watch and rewatch it. Ghost always left home to go after his dreams(Truth) and he was with Angela a lot. When Tariq went to his HOTEL not apartment which you speak of he was already in with Angela quite often. Heck, even the night they TRIED to go to the basketball game the Jamaicans (Hired by Holly) stopped that plan by trying to kill Ghost and Milan saved his life to make Ghost a slave for killing Vlad(The Serb) and also the other time Tariq went to stay the night at Angela (he took Angela gun to school) and Tasha came to the school. #powerfanout💪🏾

Tariq is unconsciously wearing Ghost characters even more darkest that James.. like what he said his father lived a complicated life and many things he will get to know about him that will at some point dawn on him that his hatred thus his father couldn't allowed him appreciate the kind of Man he was both on street and Business world. Ghost wasn't lieing when he told him he can't never go back, the only person who is capable of telling him truth is Tommy and most of the time his runs by emotions, Tasha nah has done more worst than Good to him or his associate he knows more than which will make him undermine their advice. He's going deeper and deeper into the Game with more trouble day after day because of his solely strategic without loyal soldiers to execute or backing him up.

Tariq is the embodiment of his father, no matter how many times he tries to justify it. He chose the life he lives now, and what he failed to understand from the beginning is how much his father never wanted him to follow in the same footsteps he did. His father's upbringing is what forced him into that life, whilst Tariq's upbringing did not. His father warned him of the path he would take if he decided to venture into it. Tariq will learn greatly what it takes to be at the top and the valuable losses he'll have to both endure and overcome should he continue down this dangerous path. Not everyone is built for this life, and not everyone survives this life. Those are lessons one needs to know before getting into deep. Nobody escapes this life unscathed without inheriting some scars along the way, but you can choose to do better and be better in the decisions you make going forward.

With Tariq’s character, we’ve never seen him live without someone he loves or grow up without someone he loves. Despite him killing his father, it lets me know that he feels his father let him down. Funny thing is, deep down, he knows he is just like him but doesn’t want to admit it cause he thinks his actions don’t align but they most definitely do. After finishing the last season of Power Book II, it’s clear he is just like him. Manipulative, egotistical, and driven. He just hasn’t been through the things that Ghost has that drove him to this life and made him have to compartmentalize personalities.

You don't think sociopaths don't deal with PTSD and guilt? Sure they may not right away tell you that they have remorse but those dreams and flashbacks stays in a person's mind for the rest of their lives. If anything it's showing that deep down slowly but surely tariq made a terrible mistake that he has to harbor the guilt with him.

I can understand why Tariq turned out how he was … but it wasn’t just because of Ghost. It was everybodies doing, at least Ghost tried to change. It ain’t his fault he couldn’t see shit like everybody else, trouble always came to Ghost somehow. If anything Tasha did more by actually teaching Tariq the ways even though I understand why. Tariq wanted his dad dead, it was a matter of him trynna grow bigger balls then his dad. It ain’t right to just blame this on the man who died in the finale, everybody had a hand in Tariq being who he is mainly Kanan, Tasha, & Ghost.

Product of his surroundings/ enviorment, but in the end he was being groomed as well. That being said, he was at that age in the new season where shit, you practically grown you can make your own choices. bro got so many bodies now he doesn't care because he's been through the hard part, taking out his own pops. Feel like once you at that stage you can't go no where but forward, which is what he's done. He not heartless, he just bold. because he feels like he needs to be, which in this game you truly do.

I think they were trying to move on without Omari so bad, they shifted Tariq's character arc without showing probable cause. I thought it was weak writing to turn an intelligent, rich Black boy into a dope dealer. Booooring. Then doing Kanaan's life story...the same story over and over, but they showed signs of creativity before.

THIS WAS A GREAT VIDEO AND VERY DETAILED ALL FACTS !!!! Tariq was also manipulated by Tasha and Kannan, and they projected their issues with Ghost on too Tariq. Therefore, Tariq only saw the bad that was in his father but he failed to see any faults or wrongs with his mother... Which Tasha by far was full of faults, and you would have thought he would have seen plenty in Kannan who was not a good person at all... Tariq was so hard on Ghost but he is everything worse than what his father was when it comes to ruining people's lives. Tariq comes across very sanctimonious as If he hasn’t hurt others and ruined his entire family lives. Tariq needs to come off his judgmental throne and realize he belongs to the streets because that is where he wanted to be!!! We argue this point a lot in our reviews… my vote he is a sociopath.

I've watched since OG Power and, I remember everyone hating Tariq. But, as soon as Book 2 came around everyone loves him? I noticed only pos ppl side with Tariq as if he never did any wrong. Getting his sister killed, he got proctor killed, he almost had Tommy killed by Vincents crew. He lied to Ghost many times, he stole from Tommy. He was so angry with Ghost even tho Tasha who'd still be in the hood if it wasn't for Ghost cheated first. Yet, Tariq wanna get mad cuz Ghost was with Angela even tho Ghost still spent time with the kids. He just didn't live Tasha anymore but, he's so wrong right? It's all Ghost fault right? It's ppl around Tariq's age who disrespect their parents daily siding with him. They're the ones that relates so much as if they're "misunderstood". Then funny face Courtney had beef with Omari so ofc she's gonna try to make you forget the good things Ghost did. Cuz, Tariq never did any wrong. He never got his karma. And Courtney loves Tariq bc, she hated her father too. Letting her personal feelings get in the way of business. Back to Tariq, he went from most hated to most loved. Makes 0 sense how a teenager is outsmarting adults that's been in the game longer than him. Idc who taught him the game, irl Tariq would've been dead. Real ones know what's up. They're obviously gonna never let Tariq get what's coming to him and, they try to push the fake narrative how he's better than Ghost. Just like these clowns push the fake narrative that Brayden is like Tommy smh.

But he still sticks to this hustle lifestyle because he’s in too deep now. He has no choice. The consequences of his actions have caught up to him, to the point where he can’t leave the game.
