Former employee here: Unfortunately what other former employees are saying is pretty much true in my experience. For one, I have been both denied breaks and encouraged to not take them in order to "be a good team member." My location's management also sucks and doesn't listen to the feedback of their employees (ie: Actively promoting a team member who had a tendency to undermine and just be outright rude to other bakers). They also have a tendency to take advantage of teenagers who don't know any better,,, Personally, after learning the process and how their product is made, I would highly advise against going unless you want a "cookie" that is raw and has rotten berries on it. It's all about the money, so if the cookies are making money, neither the owners, the managers, nor the bakers care. Btw, if you see this, hi Tony! I've been a lurker on your channel for a long time and I really like your discussions! I've listened to a lot of your Proud Family content while drawing and I was really interested to see a video about something I knew more about! Keep up the great work :)

I think Crumbl misses the mark on how most bakeries operate (including those within grocery stores). The employees get in at 4, 5, 6 in the morning and start working on fulfilling orders and stocking the cases before customers even walk in. That way, they’re not as swamped when customers come in and need to put in orders or just want something already available from the case. From my observation, it seems like Crumbl has employees doing plenty of the work while having to take customer orders in real time. And even though it doesn’t take long to bake a cookie (like 10-15 mins probably depending on the dough), that’s way more time than you’d like when people are coming in by the masses and you have to wait for them to cool before you can decorate them. This is why whenever I was scheduled for an understaffed shift at previous employers, I’d never rush. Granted, I wasn’t leisurely taking my time and intentionally working slowly. I’d still have some pep in my step. But I wouldn’t be trying to rush myself for 8 hours with no breaks. But yeah, the company’s inability to staff their location isn’t going to be why I lose years off of my life due to stress. And look, they’re just cookies. You’re not in the emergency room with a life threatening illness. You can wait. I wish more people understood that. It’s not the employees’ faults that they’re understaffed and undertrained. They’re still people (and usually on the younger side). Imagine they’re your own kid/niece/nephew/grandchild. Would you want a bunch of people screaming at them while they’re already over stressed? I know I wouldn’t. Anyways, great job with this video! I hope more people understand that it’s not like the staff are trying to botch all these orders. They’re working with what they have. Hopefully their working conditions improve soon because if every other fast food chain (including Chipotle) can survive despite numerous complaints about health, nutrition, and customer satisfaction, I think Crumbl’s going to be just fine (especially as there aren’t really any other dessert specific fast food chains I can think of that are notable aside from them).

Cookies end up undercooked in many areas because they have a set corporate "cook time" on their cookies no matter WHERE the store is located, so if the cook time is set for the mountain areas the same cook will not happen at a location at sea-level. Corporate won't allow adjustments! The company is a control freak over their locations. They will punish stores that don't comply with all of their crazy rules - such as locations are not allowed to sell broken cookies or cookie "cutouts" for cookies that have the centers removed, etc. There's a lot of good info about this posted on Reddit from the employees.

I use to work for a crumbl store. The only thing that made working there better was some of the coworkers if they wasn’t sucking up to the higher up. The management at our store was also problematic, anyone that would kiss their behind they would put in charge of the store. Their hard workers, they really didn’t want to pay us at all. I trained so many people on how to do things and because the of the people who was running the store didn’t care about no one but themselves, they didn’t stay on top of the quality control, even though they did “quality checks” every week. The back off our store was always gross, we had big roaches in the area where we kept our ingredients, it drove me off the wall when the person what was in charge of the company for our area started cutting the top off the ingredient boxes and leaving it open. I can literally go on and on about how bad it was and still wouldn’t have said what was all wrong. I was watching a Crumbl video a few hours ago and saw you in the comments then you post this 😂😂 I don't like many flavors that are popular including chocolate, so the rotating flavors is actually a con for me. I want to get the one thing I like all the time. I bake my cookies 75% done, so that's not an issue for me. It's that they are insanely expensive. I'd like to be able to get the 6 pack cuz it's cheaper, but I rarely have the incentive cuz the flavors don't appeal to me. Then to hear they pay employees minimum wage and don't let them have breaks at some locations is crazy. I love sugar and I've never had anything too sweet. IDK how people are eating multiple of these cookies at a time. I eat half and that's more than enough. I guess people have no idea how calories work cuz 2 of those small Pillsbury cookies are 320 calories. That's just a naked cookie. They add all types of icing, jam, candy etc, and they are very thick. No idea how anyone thought a cookie like that was 200 calories

It not just Crumb cookie. It the same for every food industry. I used to work at Little Caesars. Customers take the Hot N Ready promise so serious, despite the fact how much we work it was hard to be hot n ready. I rmr we had 10 pizzas of each ready. We through we be good for next couple of older, well we were ready for just the next order. Customer brought all 30 pizzas and the next customer was pissed off asking why weren’t Hot N Ready. For us to get a break, we had to work 7.5 hrs, and we were forced to take our break the beginning of our shift. We also didn’t have breakroom either. So a lot of times our breaks were just sitting in the corner of the store. There were couple of times, I didn’t even get a break even if I work 7.5 hrs. I show up a min late for my shift and just for that I didn’t get a lunch bc I was under 7.5 hrs. I was so hungry and tried. One time we were so busy, my manager didn’t let me try lunch but still clock in and out from lunch. Promise me he will pay me money from his own pocket for that 30 mins, I work. He never did. Morning shift were just working for 7hrs just u and the manager. The manager always had to do paperwork or prep the dough. So it was literally only one person making pizzas. When I was tarted working at Marshall’s, I got two 15 min breaks and 45 min lunch for 7hrs shift, it was heaven

also another thing with food industry is that you are always understaffed. So managers expected u to be by your phone and alert 24/7. my former co workers who were sill in high school got in trouble for not answering their phones it was during class hours. I had professor who hated having our phones out, so I never even look at my phone during his class and I always had to off. When I turn it on, got many angry text from my manager of him trying to contact me. He also got upset, when the morning person didn’t show up, he wanted me to come early. can we add whatever ingredients crumbl puts in their cookies that makes them so dang addictive. I live in a popular city & the ppl here hop on the latest trends immediately, so when I would see everyone walking around with, like you said the “pink box” & my friend suggested we grab some cookies there, I was so intrigued & agreed. We get inside & it’s 2 maybe 3 ppl working but we had no clue so many customers was in fact waiting outside in their cars. So we order pay & with eagerly waiting only to start seeing ppl come in one by one to check on their order.. we had like 5 ppl ahead of us & then at least 10 more walked in while we waited.. some ppl had no chair to sit so I’m assuming it had been that crowded before we arrived & the ppl in the cars was from the first crowd that decided to wait outside. Anyway after about 35 minutes but it felt like an hour, we received our pink boxes we both has 3 inside. Absolutely delicious!!!! 🔥🔥🔥 it’s not often they hype of something is justified but with them.. totally 💯 I haven’t went back yet but I think about those cookies all the time.. something in me just always decides I’ll grab some another day .. maybe bc they’re a little on the pricy side & I’m not trying to add another thing I HAVE to have 😂 But after hearing this video I’m really glad I haven’t ate there much, half done & the huge calories is crazy.!

A few years ago My bf and I had lived next to a crumbl cookie and one day we went in and they were $5 a cookie so we walked out and went somewhere else. Fast forward this year we decided to try them and they were good but really thick and sweet. I have started eating healthier due to being prediabetic with having an occasional sweet but discovered the cookie is 680 calories I was shocked so I only had 1/4th of the cookie and gave my son 1/4 and he was wondering why so I had the diabetes talk. Just imagine going out to dinner having drinks, appetizers, and an entree then getting a crumbl cookie you’d probably eat a whole pound worth of calories and over 200g of sugar in one day. That’s scary especially if you don’t pay attention to labels. My bf and I call them crack cookies because they sure know how to get you hooked, we’ve had employees give us cookies for free right before closing. call the crack cookies. We l

Tried it once. We couldnt even finished half of a cookie. Just too much. Especially that glob of icing they put on that already thick ass cookie. Not worth it. Great video! They did seem underbaked purposely. I think they would be much better baked a bit longer and a thin layer of icing.

I used to eat their cookies weekly. Me and my daughter would go just to check out the new flavors for the week but baby. When I started really paying attention to the calories, 1 cookie is like around 1000 calories since each cookie has like 4 servings which is over 200 calories each. I stopped eating there so much. Maybe we go every blue moon not weekly anymore. It’s definitely going to make people fat and increase the risk for diabetes.

Never tried one never will. Some things are completely on the consumer to blame. If u looked at this huge sugary mess and still purchased and ate it that's on U. Idc what the stores are doing or how, I blame the consumer 💯 . It's a repsonsibility and logical thing. U can see what's healthy for u and what's not. Y'all are not brainless babies. Stop blaming everything around u and take accountability.

They are $5 for a mega size, constantly heated so it is cooked but it isn't overcooked and is still so soft without being raw.
