Koh Phi Phi was not what we expected. Was it beautiful - absolutely! But there is a darker side to the island that many vloggers just do not talk about.
Tourism has affected the sustainability of the environment and it doesn't look like anyone is really doing enough to prevent it. Is it worth wrecking an ecosystem for the perfect selfie or video?
We stayed on Koh Phi Phi for 3 nights but chose not to go to Maya Bay where the movie The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed because we didn't want to be part of the reason why the beach remains closed. That's right, you can no longer swim at Maya Bay!
When you head over the Koh Phi Phi, be prepared for mayhem. There are people everywhere during the day. Night time is a lot better because only the people staying on the island are around so there are no crowds at all and the vibe is very chill.

About us:
We resigned from our high school teaching positions to find the balance that was severely lacking in our lives. After suffering the effects of burnout and stress we needed to make a change for the better. One that would see us living our best lives! Life is too short!
On the 28th August 2022 we begin our journey of learning what it takes to become digital nomads so we can travel full time and live our best lives. We have given ourselves two years to work it all out and would love for you to subscribe to our channel and join us on our journey.
