@ribottostudio Жыл бұрын
@@paracuna how was it out of character? We've seen Moxxie lost his cool and breakdown before. TO MILLIE? No, but an episode like this isn't out of nowhere. It's consistent. Mox is shy, emotional, quiet but good with weapons and killing. He isn't strong physically, he has a hard time standing up for himself, and seems to rely on Millie too much, being codependent which isn't healthy. He sees her more of a mother figure than a wife it appears. And gee, I wonder why. It's not like we had a recent episode explaining Moxxie's backstory and personality at all or anything. THUS FURTHER CEMENTING the personality he has as an adult.
@RaccAttack77 Жыл бұрын
While he may have expressed it the wrong way, I can definitely see it from Moxxie’s point of view. Just imagine, a father like Moxxie’s, you manage to find someone who actually loves you who is amazing, and you complement each other. She’s good at hand to hand, you’re good at firearms, you’re good at planning, she’s good at acting out the plan, AND she tells you when you’re doing a good job and comforts you when you’re hurt. But then a situation arises where all the things you’re supposed to be good at fail and she does it without a problem, above and beyond even. It could definitely make someone sink right back into that ‘I’m useless, nothing I do is right’ mindset. And depending on how deep you fall into that, your brain could twist all that comfort and praise into your partner just being patronizing. Again, talking is always better than lashing out, but as someone who has gone through situations like that, I get Moxxie being upset.
@allen6187 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think that’s part of what made me feel so much for both of them. Millie deserves support and praise just as much as Moxxie does, but I completely understand where he was coming from in his frustration. He’s so determined to prove himself, and when you’re in a situation that you believe is the perfect setting to show off your talents, it’s so easy to get frustrated when you fail. And at the same time, Millie deserves the care and support that she gives Moxxie. She puts so much effort into making him feel supported, and I can totally understand being upset when she needed that support from him and didn’t get it because he got caught up in his own insecurities. It was a difficult situation for both of them, and I really enjoyed that neither character was really the “villain”. Moxxie just really got in his head, and a result, he accidentally neglected Millie’s feelings and then lashed out when his insecurities got the best of him.

I think when you are the "needy" partner it's easy to forget that your partner also needs assurances and emotional support. They're always the strong one so you forget that takes a toll and they're strong because that's what you need but you forget that they also have the same needs. I also think that it shows they have a good relationship that Mox can get yelled at for being insensitive and self centered and take that as the criticism, even when hurtful, that it is. We all knew he would be there for the concert because they do care about each other tremendously. It's important to consider a persons trauma but it's also important to remember no one makes it out of life without some kind of trauma too, Millie maybe had a way better home life but that doesn't equal not needing emotional validation from her partner.

THIS!!!
@glorialewis8566 Жыл бұрын
It also shows the struggle that comes with always being the strong one in a relationship. It can be really difficult to put your own needs to the side to help your partner, and when that situation is something that's a constant, it can be really draining. Millie doesn't crave validation the way Moxxie does, but she wants to feel appreciated. So when he doesn't support her, despite her doing everything in her power to support and love and take care of him, of course she's going to snap. Moxxie isn't perfect. He's got a lot of trauma and issues to work through, and they're going to rear their ugly heads every now and then. And the thing is, he took for granted the fact that Millie is going to be there no matter what. But, on the flip side, Millie is so busy taking care of Moxxie that she doesn't get to have her own needs at times. Overall, the episode managed to show how problematic a mindset like Moxxie and Millie can have while at the same time showing that they are healthy by working through the situation. It's not solved but it's a situation that they will hopefully be able to handle better when it comes around again.

I related to Millie as I've been the one that would be the 'mom' and therapist in my relationship dealing with others emotions. That when I get excited about stuff I've also had a moxie that ends up upset and bitter. Though I also learned to call them out because it isn't fair that I have to put everything on pause, never allowing myself to get validation just for their feelings of insecurities. Which is why I was so happy they talked it out and Moxie realized he was being a jerk husband so supported her. Made me so happy and emotional because it isn't a contest she was still there for him and validating. Just because he failed didn't mean he has to take it out on the one person who is on his side just because she's doing well. No bucket of crabs here! Just communication and wholesome development between the M&M. It likely won't be the last since Moxie has a lot of insecurities and Millie will eventually be crossed but that just how relationships are. You don't give up on a good thing just because it gets hard you work on it and this episode them once again being couple goals by getting over the dark phase in their relationship~

I loved this episode; I couldn't stop laughing when Moxxie was pretending to be a pre-teen; the voice acting was 11/10 excellent. I can also relate to Millie in the episode because I was always the mom/therapist in my friendships and family, giving validation and emotional support to them. When I did something that I liked, which made me happy, and wanted validation from them, I quickly learned who were my real friends and family and who wasn't because we did end up in arguments, but we talked and listened and made up. I love Millie & Moxxie's relationship because they are a perfect example of a healthy relationship; they are not perfect, M&M have flaws, and they have their bad and dark days, but what is important is how they work through it rather than around it like most media tends to portray. I especially love Moxxie's speech and hyping Mille for her performance in the end and apologizing because we don't see that a lot, and most of the time, it's the person who yelled their concerns and what they feel apologies, which I'm over.

Won’t justify her being harassed by fans, but will say that her asking a fan of the show to not use her voice in ai for a fan animation is a bit silly. “Silly” being a nice way to put it. Would be like the SpongeBob cast telling people to not use ai SpongeBob voices anymore, or other various voices. I’m surprised the fan did what she wanted, because that fan making that didn’t do anything wrong at least. Just her voice being used in a fan thing is like someone stopping a parody video cause they didn’t like the parody lol.

Honestly, the whole part of the plot concerning Moxxie and Milie was my favorite because it showed Moxxie's bad/dark side and it showed Millie's more vulnerable side. Moxxie obviously needs validation in a lot of areas because of the trauma he endured when he was growing up but I also think Millie possibly had something (not necessarily trauma) when she was growing up as well. She says to Moxxie in this episode that she's never had someone cheer for her and I wonder if that's a slight peek into her backstory with how her parents are towards her. You can after all have parents or guardians that are good caretakers and such without them being abusive in any way but it would still hurt pretty bad (to say the least) to not have them validate or cheer for you. Not because they are neglectful or anything but simply because they make mistakes, too. Sometimes parents/guardians just miss certain cues and such. I wonder if Millie possibly didn't get the validation and cheering she needed from her parents when growing up because of her siblings. It can be hard having siblings at times after all, especially ones you're overshadowed by because of age and such. Just a theory for Millie, though.

Vivziepop really needs to work on Moxxie by having him stand up for himself more than stop being the Meg Griffin, Jerry Smith, Brian Griffin, or Squidward of the group, especially since he's been nothing more than a doormat to everyone except his wife. Like, have him do something different that not even both Millie and Blitzo don't know of his whereabouts when he's not around with them, like take some night school to develop new skills like learning about business to be a better businessman than Blitzo or all kinds of subjects that could be useful for I.M.P, find a martial arts dōjō to change himself while also learning how to fight, go to a gym to gain muscles, or something. I didn't really notice how extreme Moxxie's neediness was until this episode, and tbh I should go back and rewatch the series. The latest episode really sheds a light on the darker parts of their relationship. Looking back, I did notice that most of Moxxie's praises towards her were work related. I initially thought his hurt feelings stemmed from him getting too into character as Moxxine, but this video and other people's posts on the topic really opened my eyes to see that his negative feelings towards the attention Millie was getting were genuine. Although, he doesn't do it intentionally, he does tend to put his feelings of inadequacy over other's feelings, and I'm glad this episode touches on that topic. Millie should get more attention and compliments for the things she does outside of work from Moxxie. Her feelings are valid as the seemingly more stable partner, which is relatable to a lot of people. I hope he does more to support her emotionally in the future so they can have a more balanced, loving relationship.

This episode was beautifully made and i like the fact that they showed that even with seemingly perfect couples, fights do exist. But by any means, i don't think that they will (or should) break up because of it, cause everyone has their flaws/problems and as long as couples manage to work together and both do a give and take kind of thing there is no reason for them to fall apart. In the end it shows that they were strong together and love eachother and i fucking love that.

I personally felt like the episode would have had more of an impact in season 1. The fact that the world stepping on Moxxie is an ongoing gag as much as it is core to his character, and Millie having insecurities feels like it would have fit better after meeting Striker the first time. Millie has consistently been the most capable of our protagonists, so her winning the adoration of the camp feels as much like another Tuesday as the campers despising Moxxie to the point of him being forced to sleep in a tent outside the camp. She even finishes the job for him, after already being right and without even being present, which really just overshadows him more. It also feels odd following Moxxie's competence without her at the gas station in Western Energy, and well as their synergy in taking Striker down. So it feels like a backslide, for Moxxie, in particular and a wrinkle that we should have seen sooner. I don't agree with the idea that this level of argument has happened before, mostly due to Millie say she feels like she can be proud of herself for once, and telling Moxxie never to pull this again. That just doesn't ping me as this being a recurring issue. But those are the basics of my thoughts.

She's awesome, but that's never been a secret from anyone in the show or for the audience. But I'm kind of irked that it comes with the inclusion of Moxxie basically being ACTUALLY useless without her. To the point the show feels the need to call him out and rip him down to a sniveling mess when things don't go his way after she pins down their target immediately. Really feels like they're leading up to Moxxie breaking off from everyone to try and prove himself down the line, and failing to do even that.

It does make sense that Moxxie feels a bit starved for affirmation with how he grew up, which was why he overcompensated on that mission. So his jealousy on Millie was probably also because he figured that her life in Wrath had no problems and took that for granted. While he can do more, I do think Moxie gives Millie more than you imply. Millie is a very intense being, a bit too intense for her fellow Wrathian imps, as implied in S1 Full Moon Festival when she reveals she's banned from the games. Moxie accepts her intensity without hesitation, without asking her to tone it down. Never asked her to hold back on that intensity. Only this episode seemed to have any issue and that wasn't her intensity but his failure to have positive acceptance like she got...which is a callback to that bad trip in Truth Seekers when Blitzo implies Moxie cares too much of what others think of him.

Do apreciate that Millie gives Blitz the angries eyes at the end of the episode when Blitz fakes complimenting Moxxie. Despite what happened she still wants Mox to get some validation and that Blitz was just being a jerk. Still Moxxie doesn't seem to be malicious in his behaviour in this episode. Feels more like frustration, doing all this work for no pay off and learning nothing by the end, all while Millie is having a good time and enjoying herself caused him to get emotional and be a jerk. She was just being herself and was being accepted, meanwhile he tries so hard and gets rejected(THough admittedly, him trying so hard is what makes people dislike him). But it's safe to say that the moment Millie made her point and was upset he was quick to realize she is right and didn't try to argue and quickly found a good way to apologize. So I'd say this was a wound in their relationship festering for awhile and is the first step for them understanding eachother better Hopefully Mox takes it to heart and considers this later. He seems much more open to change than Blitz with his problems, so I can see this coming up again but it being more learning and growing.

Their dynamic is very interesting to me, as while not the same, im in a similar seat to moxxie. I have hyper empathy syndrome, which means i need positive emotion to feel positive. If your around sadness or anger, you soak it up like a sponge. It means we're really good at telling what people need, but if we cant get them out of that darkness, we're stuck in it too. As a result, we need someone to take the lead and provide us with unconditional affection, or we will simply get worse and worse, to the levels of self caused depression or even self hate and harm. Moxxie doesnt have hyper empathy syndrome, but he is still clearly damaged in the way that he needs tye constant affection that people like myself do Cant wait for vivzies next masterpiece
