I actually went to one of the pubs there and asked for a pint thinking it was some sort of medieval ale, I was a bit embarrassed when the landlord ( From Barnsley) laughed and told me how strong it was and that I'd be ill advised to drink a pint of it.

The Drovers Inn in Scotland is near Loch Lomond/Crianlarich and one of the oldest most haunted pub/hotels in Britain.If youre around that area its definatley worth seeing.Not sure if they let you stop overnight but I can tell you near places that do if not.Kisses for Chicco

The Railway Museum is free entry ( donation if you wish) and well worth visiting. There are some of the old royal trains used by the royal family which are really interesting. Lots to see and do there

The statue of The Queen is definitely new, we were in the Minster earlier this year and there is a very interesting exhibition of how it was made and why it looks the way it does. Great vlog as always. 🙂

Super video thankyou. I'm from York and was there in late September to see family, it's a shame I missed seeing the statue of the Queen on the minster but I really enjoyed my Cornish pastie from the shop behind the carousel, as usual. York is really a beautiful city and the railway museum, the Jorvik museum, even if you think you don't like that kind of thing ,are excellent. I've lived in France for 35 years, it's my home now but I still love going back to York.

Hi mark & lisa i dont know about yorks history but im assuming just like here in wigan the romans named the roads.The suffix ‘gata’ derives from the Old Norse, meaning a road. Three roads linked Roman Wigan (Coccium) with other settlements. So Standishgate was the road to Standish!. The road that led to Manchester is now known as Millgate- because it passed the rector’s watermill on the River Douglas. Wallgate linked Wigan to Wilderspool, the name referring to the town well, situated in front of the present Post Office. Other ‘Gates’ include Hallgate (linking the Parish Church with Wigan Hall) and Stairgate which it is assumed linked Millgate to the now diverted River Douglas via a series of steps!. Mesnesgate became Hope Street, and Turfgate now consists solely of the footbridge over the railway near Wigan North-Western station. Bishopsgate, Churchgate and Marketgate are relatively more recent addtions to the ‘Gates of Wigan’ The roads leading into the centre of the town stll bear their old wall names, Standishgate, Wallgate, Millgate, Hallgate, Bishopgate and Stairgate. ❤

@@NorthernersonTour our friends daughter was a chef and got us in for one night ,me Mrs fell asleep and I was left staring at a sash window that had splits in either side from slamming shut ( decorators in the courtyard heard rowing from the room we were in) when they investigated the room had been plastered over and nobody was in there ,then it was converted to a bedroom, I have the key of that room tattooed on my arm to this day ❤️, tbh I had the best sleep ever and no haunting apart from the shower shutting down midway on number 27 on thermostat (27 is my birthdate) 🥴 ❤️

The 6ft 7in (2m) tall sculpture was intended to mark the late monarch's Platinum Jubilee and was completed in August 2022, a month before her death.[1] The statue, which stands in a niche on the minster's west front and weighs almost two tonnes, is carved from French Lepine limestone.[2] It portrays the Queen wearing her Garter robes and the George IV State Diadem, and holding the Orb and Sceptre, symbols of authority.[2] The design was chosen by the Queen.[1] The statue was originally to have been unveiled in September 2022, but this was postponed owing to the Queen's death and state funeral that month.[1]

Just plead up in time for me to eat tea......check out a place sandside near the Lake District...you said ya couldn’t park up in the lakes ...but check out the 555 bus route....£2 and all dogs allowed every were round here x
