True. Each game has its ups and downs to it and its own core enjoyers. The biggest thing everyone at least can agree on is majulas theme is the best hub music.

Majula’s theme is so peak. Like I love the sad nostalgia of DS3’s Firelink Shrine music. But Majula’s music just captures this weird sense of “haunting curiosity” that permeates throughout that the other hub OSTs don’t have. It’s fascinating and I respect the Majula theme greatly

I have to say as someone who is currently on their 1st dark souls 2 run (I never played dark souls 3 but I plan to after I finished 2) that 2 gets way more hate then it deserves (like scholar probably deserves the hate due to more enemies and that was also the reason why I bought vanilla) but the gank is not necessarily that bad in my opinion (but I'm not at shrine of Amata yet so maybe this opinion will change) because as long as you play cautious and abuse the enviroment to some extent you can avoid the bad ganks up until now And yes the game has bad things like where you should go to (I had to look up multiple times where to go because I ran like 30 Minutes or more through the world without a clue where to go), that iFrames are bound to a stat to level or the system that when you die you lose maximum hp until you turn yourself human again So basically Dark Souls 2 (vanilla) is a great game because it's still a soulslike from fromsoftware which are all great games of what I saw and you don't have to agree with me but I think we can all agree that any Version of Dark Souls 2 is still better than Wii Music

Have played both and i think most of the hate on ds2 is bc they compared it to ds1 or 3 But even when thats said i would still say fromsoft could have made ds2 way better then it is

@@youngkappakhan i mean in general most of the ds3 fanboy mock ds2 gameplay because it's clunkier and slower to them. When in reality, ds2 has deeper mechanics that most of the player itself doesn't know. DS2 gameplay is more methodical. You have to time your roll, invest in adp for more s, manage your stamina, and chug estus at the right time. When in ds3 you can just spam roll with high default s, roll that takes too little stamina (you can even roll 7 times when you start the game when in ds2 you can only roll like 5 times with 45 endurance), and chug estus whenever you like because it's instant. Sure, for the boss ds3 is a lot better but for pvp ds2 is still the best. Also in ds3 pve you can just spam r1 and win because the enemy has 0 poise where in ds2, even the first soldier hollow at forest of the giant has a decent poise so you have to be careful when deciding to spam r1 because it also takes decent amount of stamina. Lastly, the stamina regen in ds2 is affected by % of your equip load. The % of your equip load also affect your roll distance and not just hard capped in below 30 or upper 70 like in ds1 or ds3. This is the mechanic that i think most of the player don't know. My original comment is just a joke but if you still need my clear view there you go.

@@vbrant2705 I'll gladly take it as a side effect of balancing the game for faster paced and more carefully designed boss battles because that's definitely what it sounds like, imagine if you were moving like a DS2 character fighting Abyss Watchers or Champion Gundyr or Pontiff, that would fucking suck. i kinda feel like Elden Ring has a similar thing going on with its rolling and just addresses it with dumb lengthy attack animations, which seems like a lazy and backwards solution. part of why Maliketh is my favorite boss is that he doesn't really fit that mold and instead matches you by playing super aggressively rather than trying to throw off your dodge timing. i am also aware that 2 has way more mechanical depth than it gets credit for, my friend with way more expertise in the game than me shares his knowledge often, just that lots of it feels like this weird experimental middle ground of stuff that wasn't fully thought out before implementation

@@youngkappakhan i think with ds2 we can still get better bosses like Fume Knight or Sir Alonne. Other than that, i agreed especially with Elden Ring where many of the bosses spam aoe after aoe and delayed attacks that ruining our roll timing.
