I thought the story felt rushed as I watched someone play, though I am glad the last part of this video confirmed my suspicions. There are no pictures, VHS Tapes, Phone Calls, or Notes (outside of a few notes that don't add a lot of lore). I recommend that the developers of this game hire a commissioner to write stories. FA and TH have some who do writing for cheap. I would suggest getting someone to edit and write Joseph's backstory a bit more. like TT suggested GIVE us a reason to CARE about Joseph. Also, they should hire the writing commissioner to add more backstory to the protagonist as well as Harrison Vanderbilt. Maybe for Harrison, they could explain why he wasn't taken out of his home as a kid by the authorities. Seems like the developers of this game didn't give too much thought outside of the likable fantasy apple of the mascots and three of them have eyes in their mouths. Might want to hire someone to commission them some more creative designs as well this game is lacking.

Just the fact that there were mentions of scientists and the scene of the Dance Star not just getting killed, but having his blood visibly shown made me think this game was indeed a carbon copy of Poppy's Playtime. I thought these were creations from Harrison's memories, not experiments in which it's people made into toys/mascots??? The mascots being a figment of the protagonists bad memories manifesting into warped versions of the characters would've been a better explaination than the whole pointless experimentation thingy.

For Tidy, the screen on his stomach doesn't change to show what to find next. When you set his things on the tables, he'll walk up to them and the screen will just show an image of the item while he tells you how he found it

Me and my gf are watching this together and when we saw the “let’s play our little game” we looked at eachother and sighed. It sounds like the older sister manipulated Harrison into things that are along the lines of c.s.a. The “you can’t run from me” and the lines that suggest that he should stop fighting after being caught is kinda… icky when combined with the manipulation and the touchy lovey character of Lumina.

I could've sworn one or a few of the daisy costumes were going to spring to life to grab the player in the present world. That would've been a genuinely good jumpscare and maybe it could've been like the Disney creepypasta "Abandoned by Disney" where it's discovered the costumes are heavy with people inside of them and thus thats what happened to the employees.

You know, I agree with that rant of yours. I fear that Joyville is a proof that games are becoming like the new movies. I compare most of the movies of today to Christmas decorations: the LOOK amazing, but have no other funtion. And it's sad, because unlike most Christmas decoration, all movies and games are expected to tell a story

I personally hope it pulls a poppy. It starts as a bad game, with a nice mechanic. Through out the episodes/parts it slowly learns how to horror game. Chapter 4 of Poppy was the first chapter that actually felt like a good horror game, though the chapter before got better one by one. Maybe this will too? We can definitely hope so

It was a reference to ocean gate submarine where they used a Xbox controller as the steering wheel. It imploded on itself and first notes pieces of it were still around the ocean.

Joyville was better than the second I still can't believe the lack of effort put into this. The chase boss fights also used the same areas I noticed for all of them. The same corner turns every time during these fights. I would like to watch a playthrough of this again if they get someone to fix the writing and character designs. Hope that Joyville 3 is better but something tells me that since we already know the sister is dead there may not be a third game. Too much information about who we were looking for to be a Joyville 3. Unless they are doing some kind of resurrection plotline then there will probably be a new game but I doubt it.

It has potential, and I really like the idea that the creator's twisted psyche manifests these horrors. But the three things holding it back for me are the designs of the toys themselves. Eyeball in the mouth, I just don't seem they're really popular toys that kids the world over love. Poppy Playtime really nailed the design of the toys, making it feel very believable that they could be a real-world product. The second issue is the gameplay. There is nothing to it, and all the puzzles amount to "put the square block into the square hole." They feel like they have to be there because this is a game, so we need "gamey" elements. Again, compare and contrast this to Poppy Playtime. For the most part, PP is the same, but the methods in which you insert the "square block into the square hole" are varied and interesting, primarily due to the use of the hands. The third issue is the lack of lore coherence. It really feels like they're just making it up as they go along and the game feels worst for it.

The place Lumina fell into is an incinarator, I believe. Just before they fell into the place they had the boss fight, they were in this funnel like room, I dont know whats it called, but certain massive companies have this to centralize thd garbage to burn it... which begs the question... WHY would Joyville NEED such a thing?

I hate to be harsh and critical right out the gate, but this game is really stupid. Another in a line of Mascot horror games that value campiness over telling a legitimately good story

Right? If it were up to me, I wouldn't have rushed the mascot characters into being immediate bad guys, especially ALL of them! I get where it was going for in the whole "psychological horror angle", but not only is "making something kid friendly into something disturbing" getting kind of stale when it comes to subverting expectations, the designs of some of the characters are way too off-putting to be within the realm of possibilities in a child play center. Like, just gonna be blunt; WHO DESIGNS CHARACTERS WITH THEIR EYES IN THEIR MOUTHS?! FNAF Security Breach is at least realistic in which the characters are designed to be passable kid friendly looking and follow certain safety protocols. But they are all also morally Grey aside from Afton/Vanny The whole time traveling concept was the best part of this game though👌
