Re VP Wallace; As part of the Roosevelt effort to explore new ideas during the Depression, VP Wallace went on a managed tour of the USSR. His NKVD handlers made sure he got to see what they wanted him to see including sanitized visits to gulag camps. Rightly or wrongly FDR felt that Wallace had been compromised by the NKVD and was removed from the ticket. Even during the war, both FDR and Churchill were aware that Stalin was a monster partly because Stalin seized half of Poland and murdered most of the officer class, invaded Finland during the Winter War and conducted an ethnic cleansing campaign in Crimea. While I am sympathetic towards Wallace and his more progressive ideas after looking at his post VP career I think FDR made the right decision with Truman.

Absolutely agreed that we need to educate people on mental health, cultism, and mind control. When Dr. Derber said the "Me" people it reminded me of the 1964 Rod Serling film "Carol for Another Christmas". This movie is available on KZbin, and it's a blast from the past with Peter Sellers heading a "ME" movement in the final act so reminiscent of Trumpism. It's really more like a Twilight Zone episode as a movie! Its psychologically scary on a very deep level by its very prophetic nature! This flick is so poignant, and very scary because of its a stark view into the future of the current reality in the public showing strikingly similar cultish mindsets. This movie was somewhat predictory, or at the very least a statement on the repetition of these types of mindsets and events throughout history. As a sixties baby this movie played into my set of ideals. The consensus of peace loving folks, and anti war ideals of that time. Growing up in those times also left an impression on me. I think it's Rod Serling's finest work!! I highly recommend it!!! Looking back and watching it now is just mind blowingly so Twilight Zone and what better way to describe the current state of Maga minds, lol!! It honestly feels like we are living in some kind of Twilight Zone alternate reality universe lol. I will step up my worrying if I start to hear the show's intro music for sure. lol!!! I found "Carol for Another Christmas" here on KZbin and queued it to play after this podcast video. ❤️🤍💙 I think it's important for us to share impactful resources with each other, and to keep the dialogue going (especially if things go wrong and the MAGA cult succeeds in having Trump reelected and implements Project 2025 in our society). I am appalled at how many people don't recognize how serious this threat is. I hope (I'm not a believer, so I don't pray) every single day that Harris succeeds in November. I'm in a state that recently purged the voter rolls (OK), and I'm checking my voter registration every day to make sure I can still vote. I'm planning on voting early if I'm able to in my county. If not, I'll be there on Nov 5. I am very lucky to have an employer that gives time off to vote (up to two hours on election day--which is sufficient for me to get it done). OK is a red state, so I don't expect my vote to make a difference for the electoral college. But I will always vote, no matter what. I don't want to live in OK anymore, but I'm too broke to be able to move. Anyway, I just wanted to make sure I thanked you for the movie suggestion.
