I have a 3 fund portfolio consisting of 33% S&P, 33% Total stock, and 33% international. I feel a need to focus on complete growth so I went 100% stocks, but does the SP500 and TSM overlap too much to make sense holding both? However I’ve been in the red for a month now. I work hard for my money, so investing is making me a nervous sad wreck. I don’t know if I should sell everything, sit and just wait but watching my portfolio dwindle away is such an eye -sore.

Sip is best for long term , all your negative point were for short term sip less than 1 or 2 years. Exit load is not charged after 10 years , rather you can simply say invest for more than 10 years with direct plan and you will get better return than any other investment instrument available in today's in indian.

As per my experience and knowledge about investment and Mutual fund. At 10:10 you said that if Fund charge is 2.50 then fund deduct 2500 initially from 100000 as per your example. But with it is not correct 2.50 fund charge means Mutual Fund scheme will charge 2.50% PA as fund charge. if you stay invested for 1 month then they will charge for 1 month only not for year as fund charge. The example you give is about entry load and which is not charge on any mutual fund now. In simple terms, investors would purchase a mutual fund at the net asset value (NAV) plus the entry load. In India, until 2009, an entry load of up to 2.25% of the value of the investment was charged. This has been banned negatively impacting the mutual fund industry. Mutual fund is one of the best product to get good return from equity with diversified stock portfolio, for your hardearn money always dont think about return only check risk/return. And last for SIP, SIP means monthly investment. if i earn monthly save monthy then i have to invest monthy. how could i invest my future savings today as lumpsum which i dont have. Requesting all, before investing think twice understnad all possibalities.
