I... don't agree. Shin Goji was what it was. It was simultaniously the closest to the original & most distant at once. As is, Gojira can show up & present as analogous to whatever calamity one wishes for him to embody. To that end, Shin was excellent. As for the reported 'Cosmic Horror' ever-evolving / world-ending abomniation aspect... nah, non thanks. If nothing else, Minus One's massive success garauntees at least one or more *quality* Godzilla films will follow. In that, I think we can all joyfully agree.

One thing I remembered specifically about shin Godzilla was that after releasing the humanoid tail creatures shin Godzilla was going to evolve into a Godzilla and Destroya hybrid and then after that a weird goddess looking creature. Then there was the deleted scene where a recovery team find chunks of Godzilla’s flesh that were growing teeth and eyes staring down the team.

You forgot to mention how Nakajima got one of his worst injuries when playing Varan. His stomach was burned so badly while filming that someone else had to take over for any water scenes filmed after that to avoid making the wound worse. I have to say my favorite iceberg is the humanoids on Shins tail. I got to see it in theaters back when it was released, and seeing that was scary as hell because who knows what would've happened had Godzilla had enough time to finish this evolution.

Respectfully you were wrong on the eras of Godzilla. It breaks down like this. Showa Era: 1954-1975 Heisei Era: 1984-1995 Millennium Era: 1999-2004 Monsterverse/Reiwa: 2014-?? This era of Godzilla is still on going and I think putting them together is the right fit since Hollywood and Toho are both making Godzilla/Giant Monster movies currently. Doing a great job of it I might also add.

If you end up deciding to update the iceberg sometime, you should check out the analog horror series called The Man in the Suit. It's about the actor of Gojira getting mutated and merged with the suit, slowly turning into a real Godzilla. It is really interesting and I reccomend checking it out.

I was the same. I really liked Godzilla 1998. Before that i watched some scenes from Japanese Godzilla movies but i didnt like it at all. Even when i was kid when i saw Japanese Godzilla i just saw a suit and i know there is a man. Godzilla 1998 looked a lot more cinematic. And now i love that Toho removed the dumb childish suit and made great great Godzilla Minus One which 100% CGI and thats why the movie is the best. Monsters need to be CGI...

There was a script called the wife of Godzilla (could be remembering the name wrong) , in it after Godzilla rampaged in og movie, he killed one scientist daughter, and to avenge her, he build Godzilla sized human female robot, to seduce Godzilla. And it freaking worked, so he used that robot to lure goji into a trap then blown him to a bits.

So since i havent seen many other comments. Muscle mothra originated from an artist by the name of Ruubesz-draws. They make comics of a lot of random stuff and for a long time, drew a lot of monsterverse godzilla content. Muscle mothra originated from a meme comparison where the original irl meme was a few guys laughing at a hand next to a bottle only for that hand to grip the bottle and become immensely muscular. Ruubesz made a godzilla style of that meme with goji, rodan and anguirus laughing because mothra's bug legs couldnt pick up a bottle. Only for that bug leg to become an incredibly muscular arm. Since then, it's escalated a lot, more artists got in on the joke and Cougar MacDowall dubbed a lot of those comics, making them more popular. But yeah, Rubbesz mothra started out being scary when mad, to becoming, no contest, the most powerful kaiju in that verse.

They are all named after political Eras in Japan (apart from Legendary), which have slightly different time periods to Godzilla's Eras, leading to some confusion; such as the political Era of Showa lasting from 1926 to 1989, whilst the Godzilla Era lasted from 1954-1975.

I'm not 100% sure about this, so if I'm giving false information here, then I would be pleased to be fixed with this. So, Muscle Mothra. I don't know how or who created this cartoon version of the character, however I can understand it's existent. If I remember correctly, in Japan body builders are one of many popular characters used in jokes and comedy. If you know Cho Aniki, that game is based on body builders & puns. So I can think Muscle Mothra being this jokey gag of the popular character.

Castle Bravo and Lucky Dragon Number 5 wasn't a few years before Godzilla released, it was a few months. Detonation was in March of 1954, Godzilla released in November of 1954.
