was going to say... so many more people are rooting for Darklina now that this tv show exists. I’m okay with how Mal ended up with her in the books. but it would be so cool if we could get a different perspective on Alina’s relationship with The Darkling. and honestly the writers can’t blame us for how we feel. they shouldn’t have done such a fantastic job with casting these two.

@@isabellagoulding3256 Ben Barnes is giving an empathic performance that is quite authentic....this alone gives so much room for a serious kick ass redemption arc.....😁👑🌷❤🔥 I sincerely hope they go through that route!!! He said in an interview that the second season will differ from the 2nd book! Let's hope! Honestly i think these 3 characters are already toxically imbalanced; Alina is no Saint she even lacks empathy for her fellow colleagues that die in the ship in the name of going along with Mal bc she is scared of being alone, probably bc she surppresed her powers all her life with the assistance of Mal and is toxically codependent on him, also she doesn't read 1 freaking book about her so called powers or mythology sth she lacks dearly afterwards by her own admission; Mal aids in the surppression of gifts and talents of his so called friend (i don't know what friend does that and gets to still be called a friend let alone a potential lover) and he justs goes about doing that based on his toxic insecure fragile male ego no alterior reason; The Darkling is ironically more humane he has been through structural reasons for being toxic....toxic mother who hits her students still, having to grow accept and contend with his great powers in a land that people force one another to surppress them and silence them, and having to deal with already corrupt kings and men and yep having to lead the the Grisha.....so even if all he did was awfull he still had structural reasons and did what he could with what he felt he had....and that is quite human! So either the writers in Netflix tv show WAKE UP for how already unhinged and toxic all of them are and ACTUALLY BALANCE them and that goes with a redemption arc for the Darkling and serious reconsideration of the true motivations of Mal and Alina or I will drop the show on season 2.... Let's hope Ben Barnes said it right and that they will this time around differ from the 2nd book on the 2nd season!

I really do feel we ought to analyze all characters to get a broader more honest perspective and that would make a even BETTER RICHER story and MORE HUMAN....Not just a merry go arround of he is evil because he is The Darkling, and she is nice bc she is the protagonist. Well, I honestly do not believe that allowing your colleagues to die on the boat in the name of following a guy that doesn't even see your talents ang gifts merits any reaction except judgment but since she is the protagonist EVERYONE HAS TURNED A BLIND EYE TO THIS....! So yep as i explained i think they are unbalanced characters and the author wasn't thinking much when she created them! So the showrunner and other writers could try and balance them out.And honestly i do also HOPE this come true....otherwise i will drop the show. ....i mean it! Let's hope it doesn't come to that ! Fingers crossed! 😁🌷👑❤🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💐😍The Darkling would make a great king! And if Alina actually grows up a great queen...and if that doesn't happen at least a better story for the Darkling, after all Ben Barnes is acting his heart and soul out....such an empathic take on a dark character that makes us all reconsider him....so yes he deserves this! Of all the shows I've ever watched, I've never wanted a redemption arc more than that of Darkling (plz if they decide to continue the show and in the series finale they give Darkling's characters the same fate they gave him in the book finale. I at least want Darkling to somehow redeemed himself before the final act happens, His character can end the way it did the final book but I don't want home to end as a hard-core villan like please a strong redemption cycle for him , It did not happen in the books I want it to happen in the shows ( I've got no idea how the writers are going to do it, but I want it done pleassseeee) #RedemptionCycleforDarkling

Sure she would had a different perception of Kirigan and his motives if he had told her everything about HIS BACKSTORY. Not only the part that Bragha explained to her. I mean of course Alina wouldn't accept to be part of his plan knowing she was betrayed and lied to. I CAN'T EVEN RN!! OMGGG. I've just watched the show and I'm friggin OBSESSED. They are light and darkness, they are yin and yang. THEY NEED TO BE TOGETHER. The Darkling is such an interesting character. He's not evil for the sake of being evil, it's his past that made him like that. His mother, whom I don't like, and the soldiers who killed Grisha and the woman he loved. Yes, he's grown colder but that's time for you. He's become so lonely that Alina brings him that comfort of knowing that he's found someone like him after all these centuries. The part when Alina touches him in the war room and that light just explodes, his face is like of utter surprise and like he's saying "I've finally found you" . AAGHHHH NETFLIX YOU BETTER GIVE US THIS OR I'M GONNA LOSE IT 😭😭😭
