Hi Rachel, another great video, I love all the history laid out and as always the floor plan/map you provide of the place you are visiting. I hope you are on the mend from your illness that’s kept you away for so long. Thanks for all your hard work putting this together. Wishing you well from Australia.

Ah Jacques, how are you doing? You've been on my mind, especially when I see the horrible scenes of police on social media. Poor Australia, your country is going through a rough time. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! It wasn't the easiest to make, I really don't enjoy places with horrible histories! Glad to say I'm well and truly on the mend now and busy making the next video. Hopefully ready in the next couple of weeks. Take care my friend :)

@@EVP-Voices hey Rachel, I am glad you are doing so much better and able to do more of what you love and we’re born to do again, we don’t realise sometimes until we can’t do those things especially with illness chronic or otherwise, how depressing that is, and especially when it limits our independence. Surviving here it’s been a long haul, but it is what it is. Yes I imagine it’s really hard to deal with the energy in those place’s, in the early 2005 I was in Warsaw for a show I was in, and I couldn’t visit any of the concentration camps, as I felt it all around the (old town) the Warsaw Ghetto, too much suffering. I look forward to your new video when it comes out. Be well friend. 😊

Historic gaols have a frigid and sad atmosphere, don't they? And this reminded me of a recent visit I paid to the "Old Melbourne Gaol". Although it didn't open until 20 years after the "Derby Gaol" closed its doors; the two seem almost contemporary. I put this down to the old prison hulks and the practice of sending prisoners off to the antipodes, leaving their families and country behind, embarking on a terrifying voyage to an unimaginable place at the end of the earth - as far as they knew. Once here the prisoners were often treated appallingly and the goals built to accommodate them were just as bad. Things got better with the years, with prisoners hoping for their return home, often working on farms and cutting wood. Hard work still, but perhaps better than a cramped and damp cell.
@EVP-Voices6 ай бұрын
I absolutely agree Jude. I stay away from such atmospheres by choice, this trip was a spur of the moment decision as I was close by. The longer you linger, the heavier the feeling. Putting yourself in a prisoner's position is horrid. Thanks for watching :)

It's weird how we ended up visiting the gaol, it wasn't on our radar the morning we set out. I don't enjoy visiting places where such miserable pain was felt, but it just sort of happened as Richard Felix and the team were so kind to let us in when it was closed. I agree though, I certainly wouldn't want to live there. Thanks for watching :)
@mrsdinosaur1009 Жыл бұрын
@@EVP-Voices Perhaps we don't always realise it, but the spirits themselves sometimes lead the way. Although the pain and horror of what happened in these places causes us upset, and the spirits know that, their voices have to be heard too. Just knowing be they guilty or innocent to have finally been heard brings them comfort and perhaps gives them the strength to bring them peace.
