People seem very relaxed and joyful around him. He is a very special presence as person. A playful person and a deep thinker in one. I love the way he embraces imagination, creativity and intellect all together. He lives in many dimensions and his paintings have a unique blend of energy, realism and the abstract. The images are beautiful to my eyes and at the same time open me up to an expanded perception of "reality". He is for real gifted and a gift.

"Color is a distraction to content", this quote your friend the photographer said , and I find this concept very interesting because I've done work in b/w and felt that way doing the paintings. This video was my initial exposure to Christian Hook. I'm not able to explain it, but his work uses my intellect to somehow bypass the left brain and make the leap to an intuitive right brain response. That sounds like an impossibility, I know. But that's how his work feels in my head.

This man has made many to pick up brush and scribble.... That's what is inspiration and thats what is art..... Not only the critiques like it. But It reached and moves the core of normal people....

@@earlsandyevens i think hes unique because he uses realism with abstraction...and that i believe is the mesmerizing quality.... You find your subject of interest and you lose it.... Then you frantically try to search it again and you find something else.... His art has a great deal of psychological play to it..... I love love love his work..... I think his art pieces are timeless.... I am not rich, but if i had some money... I would surely keep one of his creations...

Where did he get his accent from? His parents both just have a typical British accent but he sounds French almost. Great work!
