Gut Terk designed that Acid Test poster. He was not only a iconic Hells Angel but also the manager of Blue Cheer AND he designed the first Grateful Dead shirt ( and of course also a Merry Prankster)

CGC rating is a boon for auction houses, but a sad trend for this hobby. Collectors will be competing with each other- “My numbered copy is higher than yours! Nah!” This is art; not investment-grade securities.

If you've got something that was owned...signed...handwritten...used...or touched by The Beatles...Elvis...Marilyn...you're gonna do OK! The Beatles 1966 Shea Stadium poster from their last tour...sold for over $275,000 in 2022. You won't lose 20% on stuff like this overnight

Agree that the posters are works of art. A numeric rating based on the condition of the paper is misguided. The psychedelic 60s posters have been, and continue to be, displayed in museums and art galleries all over the world. You won't find a numeric rating on any of them, and that's as it should be.

It's a trend, very sad but it's to be expected. At least some of us buy posters for the art and associated music.

There are those of us of that generation who always loved the art and music from when it was first released and don't care about the money. I do like that I got my posters for free or paid $2-$20 for some of these going for tens of thousands. Tape on the back...a thumbtack hole....no problem.
