wow, that was really good. And it makes me realize something else. The reason why Blackbeard is not the man Roger is waiting for and can never be the pirate king, it's because despite being a D., he has the Dark-Dark fruit, so he can never be the one who brings light or sun in the world. In fact there is that excellent theory going on that to awaken his devil fruit, Blackbeard needs to be completely in the dark, which is why he was under a curtain to take Whitebeard's power, because as long as there is some light, his devil fruit can't be fully mastered. In the end Blackbeard needs darkness, so he can never be the true enemy of the "gods" of this world.

There is also the fact that Blackbeard was specifically looking for the Darkness fruit which made him antithetical to someone seeking out the dawn. The surprising thing is, is that Blackbeard is the only other character other than Luffy that has made global changes through his actions. So in a way Oda is saying that Darkness is just as influential as Light.

@@yteriaereh6467 Blackbeard is such a perfect antithesis to Luffy it's honestly absolutely nutty how well Oda did in creating him. Like it isn't some boring exact copy of Luffy just "evil" it's literally a man who has similar ideals to Luffy (Freedom, following your dreams) but is going about achieving his dreams in ways completely opposed to Luffy's entire ideology. Blackbeard is also governed by the same rules of the world as Luffy. Blackbeard was a nobody pirate same as Luffy when we meet him at Jaya for the first time, and as the story progresses we see him gain notoriety at the same rate as Luffy but with vastly different methods. If Blackbeard wasn't so damn evil I would bet on him to take down the WG and bring the dawn.

it probably won't, at max someone will look at the sunny in the light and think it is the sun but it actually is the straw hat crew or something in these lines. I don't think Oda will put this in the story, but if he does it will only be an epic scene, and not something super important for the plot (just like the way luffy entered in marineford, it is metaphorical since he is coming from the sun and there is some sunlight around him and everyone creating an epic moment, but if they had just sailed to marineford without WB and aokiji interference in the sea it wouldn't have changed anything in the plot).

Idea: Remember how Morj explained how the Skypeia arc was heavy foreshadowing for the general plot of One Piece? What if Oda also foreshadowed how the World Nobles keep their reign over the world? Enel had observation haki able to surround all of Skypeia, rooting out dissenters with a combination of his df and haki. What if the World Nobles are able to do the same, with the national treasure of Marie Joas??

The reason why Water 7 Saga is such a masterpiece, at least imo, is thanks to this realization you've mentioned. At first, OP's world seems childishly simplistic: The World is mostly ocean but filled with hundrends of small islands, there are pirates who are bad guys, and the marines who are good guys. But, because of that basic World builiding in the East Blue Saga, when we finally get to Robin's flashback... Even now, no words can express the emotions I felt, when Usopp burned down that flag. The Thousand Sunny part blew my mind. Just as the ship accidentally became a sun, the Straw Hats "accidentally" become heroes. And just like they were using a sheep as their boat, the world saw them as inoffensive, and by the point they got their lion boat, the world was seeing them as a real threat and a force to be reckoned with. I share the same thoughts as well. When Luffy and Bellamy met again during Dressrosa Arc, Bellamy told Luffy that he was able to reach Skypiea. Luffy's right off the bat response was "You did not do anything to the people there, did you?" It was just proof of Luffy being protective about the islands where his friends lived but not really realizing his bigger and greater role in the world. In Dressrosa, Doffy repeatedly said that Luffy and Law will regret destroying the so-called "peace" that the country has and that the people will hate them for it. But it turned out that they rejoiced after the war even when the country was torn into rubbles. The "gods" hate and are terrified of the light that Luffy brings to the world because they thrive in its darkness.

After I watched this I had a sudden thought. The Straw Hats defeat darkness on every island. But the one time they were defeated, it was by light, namely Kizaru & Kuma.

I'm very glad I found your channel! Nowadays, most of the people in the fandom only talks about power levels and are impatient if the chapter had no any single fight. But watching this vid and knowing that there's you, I've never been so happy that there's still people who understand One Piece beyond the fights. This vid is mindblowing.
