Maggie you deserve your success!! I am 56 and have Vascular EDS..my colon went into a mega colon and if I did not have your videos under my belt I would NEVER have done as well as I have done! You present yourself in a bright and friendly way, and I had Adenomyosis and have chronic kidney issues along with Diabetes, so play on girl! Hard work with good intentions always pays off in some way! I am so happy for you!

Isn't it amazing how life works out. I'm glad you took these topics on. You taught not to fear. You taught how to be my own advocate with suppliers and professionals. I share your videos with others that need. I'm really looking forward to your care video. They don't offer information other than the generic surface stuff. I hope your channel continues to grow and your seed starters too. You are personable, clear spoken and calm. Thank you!!!

No matter how long you're on KZbin, it's impossible to understand the algorithm! Also I thank you for posting your stories, it's always helpful to see others who have similar problems (Crohn's and proctocolectomy here too!) teaching what they've learned.

I have no medical conditions related to your content and know nobody who does. I can’t recall how I found your channel. But I have an interest in medicine and worked in hospitals in a previous job, so I think I was just curious and clicked when you somehow happened along. So I came for the medical curiosity, but I stay for your warm personality and your wider story, your life with lovely Zak and your doggos! And if I ever do have a need for ostomy info I already know the best place to come! Thank you, Maggie! X

Videos showing people how to change an ostomy bag are SO important! My urostomy bag was leaking the night I came home after my cystectomy surgery. I was in the bathroom with my phone searching 'how to change a urostomy bag" while I was panicking, unsure, and upset. People like you who share so honestly are heaven-sent! I now pay it forward to other new urostomy patients whenever I can. There's nothing like personal experience and honesty to make a real difference in someone's life. Thank you!

I purposely keep my videos not super shiny because I want to be authentically myself. I so agree with you! Congrats on your success! I fit into the category of people who found you just because a video pop up and I was curious. My uncle had an ostomy, but had it reversed. I think that made me more likely to click on it because I had a small amount of background knowledge. Thanks for sharing your story so that others with medical accessories feel empowered and confident :)

I am an RN and I work at home as a case manager remotely. Def not what I thought I would be doing when I was in school! But it's the best way to manage my RA! So I kind of understand! Nursing degrees can open many doors and that is very helpful when you have a chronic illness!

15:40 That IS a skill. I'm a on and off viewer and subscriber to your channel from the beginning, I was about 39 back then. As an ostomist I enjoyed so many of your videos. I learned from them. In the early 2010s I've been a member of the managing team of an online community connected to an ostomy supplies manufacturer so I can relate to the learning curve how to work with a large commercial company. But mostly how important it is to share in a way that is non scary but factual and informative. You are one of the best! Thanks, Johan

Maggie I’ve been watching you for a long time…. My oldest son was dx at 11 with Chrons. I wish I had these videos back then…. Poor Scott had no idea what was going on other than all the pain, embarrassment of symptoms and dr visits oh and the colonoscopy prep and meds at age 11🤦🏼‍♀️…… you are like a best friend who I feel completely comfortable listening to although I imagine it’s quite different on your side getting hundreds and thousands of comments not having a face or insight to our TMI situations. I hope 2023 is good to you and your health and you can put out many more videos to inspire and teach and just make us smile!!!!

You know iv been doing alot of reading lately on all types gastro issues such as IBS and IBD and types of cancers as well as stomach paralysis. However, the one issue that seems to be the least talked about or discussed almost like a black sheep is PFD Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. PFD is still relatively new term with very few places that research and offer aid to give a person bio feedback that helps a patient to retrain pelvic floor muscles. PFD is considered more mental and associated with psychological, sexual or physical abuse and other life stressors, psychological counseling is often included. All very fascinating stuff especially how much influence and effect the mind can have over the body.

Cool 😎 I had a bag for a year , about 10 years ago . When I went back to work, I had to go for a hearing test in a trailer six grown men very quiet and my bag decide to irrupt very loud and very funny , we could not stop laughing we all had to take the test over again . I think I had too much broccoli or cauliflower. 😂😂 You’re doing a good job. Thank you for the memories. 😊

Your videos have been a lifesaver for me! In June 2019 I learned that I was *yet again* not responding to meds and after trying every med on the market and was going to be having my colon removed. So I started researching EVERYTHING. (That’s my comfort when I’m anxious *knowledge*) Your page and a couple others literally brought me peace and knowledge and I’ve been following ever since. My surgery was September 2019 💕

I always find the explanations of IBD and ostomy topics on this channel easy to comprehend (I am not in a medical field or have IBD). I can believe that professionals use clips from this channel in their curriculum. However, I hope that all these uses are listed on a resume, as any payment for such content should be at a professional level. Oddly enough, I cannot remember how I even found this channel. I guess a 👍goes to that problematic You Tube algorithm, sometimes it works.

I had been watching you and subscribed about that time. I remember you talking about the barbie butt surgery and I asked my doctor about it because he wasn't sure how much rectum he was going to have to take. He didn't know what a barbie butt was! I had to laugh and then I explained it to him. Lol. He assured me that I would not need that done and apparently had not done it before as he said that would require a plastic surgeon. I still have all of my rectum and anus even with the hemorrhoids, they don't flare up much now. I'm pretty sure I subscribed around then for the info you were talking about. It really helped me a lot, my husband doesn't watch you, but he knows that I'm talking about you when I mention Maggie to him.

Hi Maggie,I remember that video. I was watching way before your channel blew up. I don't have IBD ,but I have a friend who has Crohn’s disease and an aunt with colitis and your channel has helped educate me. Anyway, part of the appeal of your content is you are never in a hurry. I hate Tic Tok cause they are just little snippets and you do deep dives into stuff and I like deep dives. Anyway, thanks for all this.

Hi Maggie, thank you so much for this video. I would really like to see more of this. I have started my you tube channel a year ago, vand it's been very slow, mostly because I am not posting as much as I would like to, mainly because of health issues. I really appreciate you sharing this, as I to would like to share my experiences with others, not for the money but paying it forward with information, like your channel has helped me so much in my journey, would love to do the same for somebody else. Stay blessed, hugs to you, Zak and your furbabies. 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I would love more videos on patient advocacy and the opportunities that you have in that space. As an OT w/ Crohn's (& other AI conditions), I would love to pursue patient advocacy in a professional manner. I've only done it on a volunteer basis with survivors of sex trafficking, which I loved. Being newly diagnosed, I'm learning so much from you about CD, so thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into this community. :).

So, Maggie, I'm happy to support your channel to the best of my ability. Good for you.

Thankyou again Maggie 💓 wonderful and informative video. I accidentally stumbled across your channel a few years ago and no I don't have an ostomy but I do have other issues and chronic pain. I guess the fact I was a nurse as well and spent a bit of time on the Gastroenterology ward I got really interested in your story, health and life with Zach and the fur babies whom I love ❤️. I was actually thinking when I watched your video on blood pooling and those cup things or ring things the one that you can use but have to discard and then the one you ordered that you were unable to use and the cost involved each time you try something new that you could possibly contact the companies and chat with them and hopefully get some free samples. I mean it's advertising for them but it will save you money. I also thought about the price and that's USD I'm in Australia so imagine how much more expensive they would be here. I have no use now for these magical devices as I am post menopausal 58 yrs but oh how I wish I was young again. Take care ❤️❤️🙏🙏✨️✨️

I probably found your channel through those videos you were mentioning. I was looking for content related to GJ tubes, because I was really nervous about having that surgery. I don't have IBD or an ostomy. I have been relying on tube feeding for nutrition for almost 4 years because of gastroparesis, so channels like yours have helped to make me feel less alone. I am another ex nurse. I never actually worked as a registered nurse after finishing my training (which was hospital-based as opposed to university-based), but my training has been helpful as I have negotiated the health problems of my children and myself. I have no fear of needles or medical procedures and the sight of blood does not bother me. I have been able to be at the side of my children, able to understand what was happening and able to explain things to them. My training also helped me not to panic when illness struck and helped me know what to look for and when to seek help from professionals. My oldest child has a genetic condition, one of my children had anorexia nervosa through her teens and two of my children have developmental disorders. We never know what the future holds or how the knowledge we gain will help us in life. I have never felt my nursing training was wasted. I do not know anyone with the physical problems you have and I don’t know how I found your channel. I follow you because what you have to say is informative and educational, I admire your positive attitude and that you do what you can to live your best life despite having chronic illnesses and because I am amazed by what modern medicine can do to help people. I have chronic mental illness and it is helpful to me to see and hear someone like you acknowledging your health problems, working through the tough times and having an overall positive mindset. Thank you for your videos.
