Yankees were down 3-1 in this series. They beat up on a bullpen that was made up of 4th stringers for 1 win. Game 5 just showed the true colors of each team. Even if they somehow won this game, they weren't beating the Dodgers away from home.

And that was a good strategy for Dave Roberts. To save his best relievers for game 5 and the rest of the series going forward. And game 5 really showed that the Dodgers were the rightful winners with the effort and hustle and the fundamentals they showed in the field.

The Yankees never had a chance. We were really awful and bad all the year at bat. I told my friends and wife that the Series will be won by the Dodgers in 4 or 5 games easily. But the way that the Yankees gave war in Game 1, disturbed all the reality and a lot of people thought that the WS will be epical. DODGERS WAS MUCH BETTER AND SUPERIOR IN REGULAR SEASON AND OF COURSE, POSTSEASON.

It makes me laugh when people say the Yankees never had a chance against the Dodgers. The Yankees beat themselves and had bad circumstances. In game 1, if the ball never would have gotten past Torres, Ohtani never would have made It to 3rd, then scored on a sacrifice fly to tie the game. If the game didn't go into extra innings, Yankees would have won 2 to 1. If Verdugo never would have fallen into the stands, the runners never would have moved up a base, the Yankees would have never walked Betts, and pitched to Freeman. Don't get me wrong, the Dodgers and Freeman, definitely earned that home run. If the ball would have just dropped out of Judge's glove in front of him rather than bounce about 10 ft away from him to his right, Hernandez would have never made it to second. The next batter hit the ball to Volpe, which he would have thrown to 2nd base instead of 3rd base getting Hernandez on the force. Cole then struck out the next batter. Yankees would have been out of the inning with no runs scored against them. They would have won the game. The Yankees should have been up 3 games to 2. The Dodgers were definitely not manhandling the Yankees.

I am a lifelong Dodger fan and the 5th inning of game 5 was one of the most shocking meltdowns by a major league team I have ever seen, especially a team as talented as the Yankees and playing in Yankee Stadium. It’s almost like the Baseball Gods were determined to let the Dodgers win the World Series. The two most shocking plays were Judge dropping a routine fly ball because he took his eyes off of it for a split second and Garrett Cole’s inexplicable decision not to cover first base on Mookie Betts’ ground ball to the first base side.
