Former 911 worker here - sometimes we can track phone numbers but sometimes people are really good at using technology to hide their information even from police. Most departments do keep a record so if you’ve been swatted before, they’re able to recognize a swatting again. I’ve worked a few swattings with twitch streamers, and luckily we were able to just call the streamer and verify that it was not happening. @@GalacticStudios69 it's still a police report either way. you're reporting to the police and 911 operators that there was something that happened, which means they gotta go check out the situation and Canada has Provinces and the US has states and they have different laws than each other. so by dialing 911 on the phone, you're technically making a report to a 911 operator about something bad happening. a police report doesn't have to be done at the station or in person, it can be done over the phone. i have family that are detectives and officers of the law including a couple people i went to school with. it sounds like to me, you're one of the people who makes the phone calls for streamers to be swatted, by saying "it's not a police report." it's both a false threat and police report at the same time.

Unless you're calling from a landline, 911 does not have your exact location. they can maybe ping your location to the closest cell tower in the moment. But it is not currently possible to trace the call to an exact location/caller within the 30 seconds to 10 minutes a 911 call usually lasts. All they know is that someone could possibly be losing their life _right now_ and so they act accordingly. The risk of not believing the caller is that someone could die. It's unfortunate that for situations like this, the risk of _believing_ the caller is _also_ that someone might die.

Look I agree they should've acted differently and decently, but you gotta keep in mind the SWAT team goes in there preparing themselves for hundreds of dangers and possible traumas they might encounter. They're risking their lives with a call like that and also have to be mentally sharp enough not to harm anyone innocent. If a call like that turns out to be a prank, they're still fired up and full of adrenaline. They go in there fully ready to kill another human being and are asked to help look for a cat. I definitely feel for QTCinderella when she said "cuz girls are an accessory". Can you imagine what it must feel like being treated as if you dont exist outside of the context of another person? It's insane that women are more likely to be treated this way. Marzia is just one of many examples and I'm sorry to mention specifically her but unfortunately she's the biggest example of being mistreated by other people this way. All those women were posing for the photo, and underneath the photo I could read their names, but it was all "Mrs." + Husband's Name. the unfortunate reality is that a lot of people with disabilities are killed by police for that reason. hearing impaired people are often arrested or killed for 'refusing to listen' or 'resisting arrest' when in reality they can't hear the police, same with people with cognitive impairments and mental illness who may not entirely understand what's happening. people with tics or neurological issues are often arrested, tased or shot at for making sudden movements and noises, or for not moving at all.

Her description of the silence after is spot on. 5 months into my loss and I still sometimes wonder how come my dad hasn't text me this week or I try to call him out of habit. Then it hits you all over again that you can't. That the person who was so supportive is no longer with you.

QT literally had me tearing up when she spoke about getting through life 5 seconds at a time. This episode was really good and it was intresting to learn about how the industry can have such a huge effect on people mentally.

Same. I always had this mentality whenever mentally things get bad, that id say "You can last five more minutes... Okay, now do it again" same idea as her. I appreciate how real she is being.

Anthony i feel this every single episode - the absolute truthful empathy/sympathy you give in such an appropriate and amazing way that makes everyone feel comfortable while alowing emotions to be felt and discussed its amazing and QT thank you so much for being such a strong woman who can talk about her life while showing her emotions, but staying strong to keep talking is wow This is one of my favorite series on youtube, and I know is helping so many people, thank you!!

dude i feel so bad for her, never realized how hard she actually had it since she plays it off so well. I hope those bastards who call swat on them get it I hope she gets better soon as well eventually, poor her. Her content and events are amazing as well! I hope she pushes through and gets better overall

There needs to be something in place where you can file with police that you are an internet celebrity, and you know people will try and swat you, and they need some sort of protocol in place. They also need to start holding these caller’s accountable. They are wasting police resources. KNOWINGLY
@lenoio5122 жыл бұрын
yes the caller needs to be Held accountable, but also the police. How can they be just so negligent, insult when someone is trying to talk, should different orders? They went there three times with even same cops and they literally just do not care. Cops don’t need to act like navy seals breaching osama bin Ladens house. This is excessive and leads to so many wrongful deaths without anyone being punished.
@Billy-rz1jg2 жыл бұрын
The LAPD already has this and Ludwigs house was on file after the first swatting. They don't care, this is a larger issue with police in general and the ability to rapidly weaponize them because ultimately enacting violence is their function.

This exists, it's called whitelisting which Blaire, Ludwig and their roommates attempted to do but the LAPD (and all other PDs) is just a violent gang that love to shine their tax dollar payed toys and pretend to be seal team 6

They actually do and it works for some streamers in texas, and QT and lud gave their number to the LAPD but even though they should call and check with them for some reason they aren't

I don't know if you will read this QT, but I really appreciate you being so open with the difficulties of being a female content creator. When I was around 19/20 I tried out streaming for a very short period and was lucky enough that I got a little bit of attention. However, I quickly realized the attention was overly sexual and the content I was making was never really the main focus of the attention I got. This really destroyed my desire to pursue being an online content creator entirely, and I quit only after a few months. Your story about the swatting is terrifying, and I can't imagine having to go through that; let alone having to immeadtely pretend everything was fine on Lud's stream and take the blame for "accidently" turning the stream off.

QT talking about her mom got me. I had two grandparents pass away this year. They were both super supportive, and my grandfather was the first one to support my decision to drop out of school to be a magician full time and he was my biggest fan. EDIT: I am not a streamer but boy I wish I was if only to be a contestant on the Master Baker!
